It was directed by Raoul Walsh and produced by Walter Wanger from a screenplay by C. Graham Baker, Bert Hanlon and Gene Towne based on the story Three On a Mike by Stanley Garvey.
The film involves a trio of young female singers trying to break into show business.
The song "I'm in the Mood for Love" was introduced in this film by Frances Langford.
Synopsis
Susan Moore, Dixie Foley et Daphne O'Connor sont licenciées par leur patron, Huxley, lorsque celui-ci découvre qu'elles enregistrent un disque sur leur temps de travail. Sans un sou, elles sont expulsées de leur appartement pour n'avoir pas payé le loyer. À la suite de leur participation à un radio crochet, elles vont devenir les protégées de "Tops" Cardona, qui a gagné le concours avec son orchestre. Ils les fait passer dans son show radiophonique et elles deviennent célèbres.Actors

Athanael (Jack Benny), the third trumpet player in the orchestra of a late night radio show sponsored by Paradise Coffee (motto: "It's Heavenly"), falls asleep listening to the announcer, who is doing his best to prove it is "the coffee that makes you sleep." Athanael dreams he is an angel (junior grade) and a trumpeter in the orchestra of Heaven. Due to the praise of his girlfriend Elizabeth (Alexis Smith), the assistant of the deputy chief of the department of small planet management (Guy Kibbee), he is given the mission of destroying planet 339001 (Earth) and its troublesome inhabitants by blowing the "Last Trumpet" at exactly midnight, signaling the end of the world.

On Moonlight Bay centers on the character Marjorie Winfield, a tomboy played by Doris Day.
