Synopsis
Salma's husband, Jamal is not the easiest man to get along with, but for the sake of their children, she stays with him. Jamal is a heroin addict, dependent on Salma's instincts to protect her wedding vows so he can take advantage of her honorability to get his daily fix. He is lost without her, desperate to change however willing to sell his soul to the devil if need be. Although Salma is powerless to change his sick ways but she has to stand against the odds and struggle for everything she got. Zaryaab is the man who controls the illegal activities of the area. He is fully supported by the powerful syndicate head Saien. Swaarangi is an entertwined story about life, fate, sacrifice and survival.Actors

Lallan Singh (Abhishek Bachchan) is a goon, originally from Bihar but settled in Kolkata, West Bengal because his brother Gopal Singh (Sonu Sood) has left him alone and he had no option of earning back home. He loves, marries and abuses his wife, Shashi Biswas (Rani Mukerji). Michael Mukherjee (Ajay Devgan) is an influential student leader who wants politicians like Prosenjit Bhattacharya (Om Puri) to keep away from college elections. Michael is in love with his neighbour Radhika (Esha Deol) who lives with her uncle and aunt. And then there is Arjun (Vivek Oberoi), carefree and spoiled son of an IAS officer. He wants to relocate to the U.S. for a better future. He falls in love with Mira (Kareena Kapoor), whom he just met. One day, Arjun and Mira get into a quarrel on the road and Mira gets into an auto. Arjun gets lift from Michael to catch up with Mira, who is going that way. Suddenly, Michael is hit by a bullet and he is saved by Arjun. After talking to Michael, Arjun changes his mind and wants to be a politician. Prosenjit is worried when he hears news of students standing in the election. He uses every possible way to get them out of Politics.Firstly he provides scholarship of a prestigious foreign university to Michael. When Michael refuses the bribe, he orders his goon Gopal Singh to take control. Gopal beats some students but faces very strong retaliation from Michael and his fellow students. After that Lallan Singh takes charge and kills Gopal. He kidnaps Arjun and other candidates. However, they manage to escape with the help of Lallan Singh's ally. Lallan follows Arjun and beats him up. While running, Arjun manages to call Michael for help. He comes to rescue Arjun at Howrah Bridge.

The film follows a group of criminals and corrupt cops who find themselves in serious trouble. James Iglehart plays African-American prize fighter Cal Jefferson who is on a honeymoon holiday in Hong Kong with his new wife played by Shirley Washington. In 1973, French street performer Philippe Petit (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) is trying to make a living in Paris with juggling acts and wire walking, much to the chagrin of his father. During one performance, he eats a hard candy which was given to him by an audience member and hurts his tooth. He visits the dentist and, while in the waiting room, sees a picture in a magazine of the Twin Towers in New York City. He analyzes the photo and decides to make it his mission to walk a tightrope between the two buildings. Meanwhile, he is kicked out of his parents' house by his father, citing his lack of income and the fact that he's a street performer. Philippe returns to the circus that inspired him to wire walk as a child and practices in the big top after hours, but is caught by Papa Rudy (Ben Kingsley), whom he impresses with his juggling skills. While performing one day, Philippe meets a beautiful woman and fellow street performer named Annie (Charlotte Le Bon) and they begin a romantic relationship. He also explains that although he didn't know it at the time, she was his first "accomplice". He tells Annie about his dream to walk between the towers of the World Trade Center and she supports him and gives him a perfect place to practice at her music school. Philippe meets a photographer named Jean-Louis (Clément Sibomy) and befriends him, becoming Philippe's official photographer and second accomplice in his "coup".

A security expert Kyle Western (Weathers) begins working for the high-profile gangster Lou Jordan (Williams), who is an antique-car enthusiast. When Jordan shoots dead an intruder one evening, Western is pressured into taking the fall, in return for a large cash sum, to which Western hopes will enable him to buy Napa Valley land as an upright citizen. Soon after Jordan murders his own wheelchair-bound attorney in front of Western's eyes. Having already started an affair with Jordan's wife, Meg (McKee), Western decides to go on the run with her after discovering she is pregnant with his child. Trading the luxury car given to Western by his boss, the pair flee with Jordan's hitmen on their trial. However henchman Frank Carmen (Boswell) fatally stabs Meg Jordan in a coffee shop. The waitress Angela (Carrillo) witnesses the event, and flees, becoming sought after by both the henchmen and Western, as she is the only witness to be able to clear Western in Meg's murder. After a confrontation, Western kills Carmen, but another henchman, Walt (Tony DiBenedetto), kidnaps Angela. A final confrontation at Jordan's warehouse sees Western trade Lou his prized antique sports car for Angela. After escaping the warehouse Western detonates the explosives rigged on the car.
