A year after the first film, Dr. Claw (Tony Martin), escapes from Riverton Prison. Chief Quimby (Mark Mitchell), Mayor Wilson (Sigrid Thornton) and Baxter (Bruce Spence) unveil the new female Gadget Model #2 (G2 for short) (Elaine Hendrix), to replace the now glitchy Inspector Gadget (French Stewart). Gadget soon falls for G2, but she turns down his offer to team up, saying she works alone. Also, Gadget angers Quimby after arresting his mother for going .3 mph over the speed limit and for driving without a license. Meanwhile, Dr. Claw plans to steal 5 trillion dollars worth of gold from the Riverton Federal Reserve. Gadget's niece, Penny (Caitlin Wachs) shows him that Claw placed a job ad in the paper for minions. Gadget goes undercover, but ends up causing a bar brawl, which G2 later breaks up. Penny sneaks along with Brain (Gadget's dog), and finds out Claw is planning a heist; she tells Gadget and G2. Despite Quimby warning to stay away or he will be fired, Gadget goes to the stakeout and ends up sabotaging it while trying to help, allowing Claw's minions to escape with ion fuel cells. Quimby makes Gadget spend the next three days as a bathroom janitor instead of firing him as promised.

Neo and Bane lie unconscious in the medical bay of the ship Hammer. The movie begins with son Eddie feeling homesick for Transylvania. Herman decides a "good old Transylvanian Christmas" is what his troubled son needs to get in the mood for the holidays. Together with the family - including Lily, Grandpa and Marilyn, he sends out invitations to the entire Munster family, including Wolfman, Mummy, and the Gill-Man. Herman also asks for a raise from his boss and is fired, taking on other jobs such as modeling nude for an art class, donating blood, and wrapping presents. Meanwhile on Christmas Eve's eve, one of Grandpa's experiments has gone awry, accidentally transporting Santa Claus and his elves to the Munster Mansion. Christmas faces ruin as there is no way to send Santa home, and the entire family must find a way to save Christmas. Meanwhile, Marilyn falls in love and Lily enters a home decorating contest, with nosy neighbour Edna Dimitty (from the previous Munster movie Here Come The Munsters) causing trouble. Eddie also faces trouble at school from bullies.

In the Himalayas, a failed rescue mission results in a raccoon falling to its death (a parody of Cliffhanger). Ace Ventura then undergoes an emotional breakdown and joins a Tibetan monastery. Australian heiress Alexandra Hobart's (Emma Samms) father has disapproved of every boyfriend she has brought home to meet him, including her burly, life-of-the-party fiance, Bruce (Vernon Wells). After a disastrous birthday party, Alexandra decides to challenge her father (Terence Cooper) with the worst boyfriend she can find. She hires a down-on-his luck waiter from a Mexican restaurant in Sydney, Australia named Carlos (Cheech Marin) to masquerade as her new boyfriend to persuade her father into allowing her to marry Bruce. Needing the money to save the failing restaurant, Carlos agrees to the ruse; acting loud, belligerent and obnoxious, shocking everyone in the Hobart household and their high-society friends at a party with his crude behavior, warranting unwanted attention from Alex's eccentric cousin, Maggie (Jeanette Cronin) in the process. After a while however Alex discovers that in spite of his rather crass and unrefined ways Carlos is actually a very caring and sensitive person and she even finds herself falling for him. Alex's father, however, doesn't buy the act, and hires a detective to photograph Bruce and Alex's best friend, Dominique (Carole Davis) in a compromising position. Carlos gets wind of the infidelity and attepting to save Alexandra from being hurt ends up assaulted by Bruce. Alex outs Bruce and Dominique at a party before racing to the airport to mend fences with Carlos. Hoping she's not too late, Alex has the plane called back to the airport by her father. Realizing how noble Carlos is, Mr Hobart invests in Carlos' restaurant thereby saving it from closing.
