Fausto Tozzi (29 October 1921 – 10 December 1978) was an Italian film actor and screenwriter. He appeared in 70 films between 1951 and 1978. He wrote the script for The Defeated Victor, which was entered into the 9th Berlin International Film Festival. He directed just one film, Trastevere.

Biography
Il débute au cinéma en 1946, d'abord comme scénariste puis comme acteur. À la fin des années 1950, sa carrière devient internationale ; outre l'Italie, il tourne en France, aux États-Unis, en Allemagne et Espagne. Il réalise en 1970 son unique film, Trastevere, et parait pour la dernière fois sur les écrans dans L'Étalon noir, sorti en 1979, quelques semaines après sa mort. Dans la ville de Rome, le riche industriel Lombardi (Ennio Balbo ) est enlevé. Le capitaine Murri (Leonard Mann ), qui surveillait Lombardi, manque l'interpellation des suspects. A qualified surgeon is urgently called by a party in a small and inadequate private hospital to operate a man in critical condition because of a suicide attempt.
