Laxmichi Paule is a Marathi movie released on 18 February 1982. It was produced by Arun Pandit Chipade and directed by G.G. Bhosle. The movie is based on a family with a superstitious curse which causes a father to die if a son is born.

Synopsis

Prakash, his wife Nandini, and his mother live happily under the same roof. It’s been two years since they got married and Nandini hasn’t conceived yet. Prakash isn’t ready for a child and he tries to convince Nandini of the same but she yearns for a child desperately. Despite his mother's opposition, Prakash gives in to Nandini's demands.

The story revolves around a tribal caste called the Thakar. Nagya (Mohan Agashe) is a drummer who has a passion for being a "pure one" (punyavant). He meets Chindhi (Smita Patil), who has abandoned her husband as she considers him useless. They both fall in love and strive hard to be united. Once when Nagya goes to jungle for wood-cutting, a queen honey bee attacks him and one of his eyes is injured. He decides to take revenge. The beehives are located high on a nearby difficult to climb peak {Lingoba}. He decides to cut all the beehives so that the queen-bee runs away. Meanwhile, Chindhi becomes pregnant with Nagya, but she still supports his dangerous attempt to climb the peak. Nagya then climbs the peak and cuts the hives. Chindhi is waiting at the base of the peak, but the disturbed honey-bees attack her and she dies in the incident. Nagya, in search of Queen honey-bee, loses his own queen[wife] in the end. This is a classic paradox, where he succeeds (Jait re jait, means WIN-WIN) in his revenge, but loses wife.

Naram Garam is the story of Kusum (Swaroop Sampat) and her father (AK Hangal) who are left homeless due to non-repayment of debts of the local money lender. They are helped by Ramprasad (Amol Palekar), who is in love with Kusum. Bhavani Shankar (Utpal Dutt), Ramprasad's employer, who is feared by his family members and employees, but is himself terrified of his own mother-in-law (Dina Pathak). Ramprasad helps Bhavani Shankar get the possession of his ancestral home after a 53-year-long legal battle with a squatter and is therefore assigned the responsibility of getting the house back in shape so that it can be re-occupied. In the meanwhile, Kusum and her father come to the shelter of Ramprasad and start staying in the house. Ramprasad doesn't have a house of his own, hence decides to let them stay illegally until he can find an alternative.

A wealthy, but evil man named Zafar Khan (Kader Khan), has fallen in love with a girl named Salma (Waheeda Rahman) and wants to marry her, but she and her father do not let him. During this catastrophe, Salma is also separated from her young son, Iqbal (Amitabh Bachchan). Zafar abducts Salma and tells the world she is his wife. He also adopts an infant from an orphanage in Kanpur, a boy named Sunny (Rishi Kapoor), for Salma to raise on the advice of a psychiatrist. Meanwhile, Iqbal is reunited with his uncle, who has lost his wife and son in the flood. The uncle will raise Iqbal as his own, as they have no more family.
