Projet Banlieue est un documentaire québécois du collectif Consientia réalisé en 2005. Il s'agit d'une étude sociologique du mode de vie nord-américain, quoique ciblant précisément la banlieue.

Synopsis

Voici un tour d'horizon complet de la banlieue québécoise : son histoire, sa réalité économique, son rôle dans la société de consommation, sa place dans la nature et son impact sur l'âme humaine. Abordant les thèmes complexes de la fiscalité, du rêve américain, de l'environnement et les rapports humains, Projet Banlieue jette un regard critique sur notre imaginaire et nos comportements. Plusieurs sociologues, une urbaniste, un physicien, un curé, un maire, un promoteur, un courtier immobilier, un directeur de centre économique et nombre de banlieusards tentent de définir le concept.

Frank Ripploh se réveille. Encore nu, il va sur le palier pour voler le journal de la voisine, mais sa porte se referme derrière lui. Il doit alors demander à sa voisine de passer par son balcon pour rentrer chez lui. En classe, il raconte aux écoliers sa mésaventure du matin, en mimant le passage d'un balcon à l'autre. On le voit ensuite, en manteau de cuir, aller dans des toilettes où des hommes guettent le passage d'autres hommes en se masturbant. Il s'enferme dans une cabine où, assis, il corrige des cahiers tout en regardant par une ouverture un homme qui se caresse les fesses. Ce dernier sort, un autre homme prend sa place et introduit son sexe dans le glory hole.

In 2003, seven children had aspirations for their futures. Revisiting the neighbourhood and the children eight years later, L’Est pour toujours documents the progress they have made in their lives. Marianne Racine reconnected with his father, only to find he lives in Vancouver and does not speak French. Maxime Desjardins-Tremblay has combined work and study as a film and television actor. Though wishing to become a rapper, he still gets caught up in problems with street gangs. Proulx-Roy and Jean-Roch Beauregard, having spent time in youth centers and reform schools, are both still seeking their paths in life. Valérie Allard has aspirations of working with others through social services. Samantha Goyer has completed school. At 21, Vanessa Dumont is the oldest of the seven. She looks far younger than her biological age, but this affects her search for both job and boyfriend, and she deals with dark moods. The film shares how a person's future is not always determined by where they grew up.
