Snow Trail (銀嶺の果て Ginrei no hate) is a 1947 black-and-white Japanese film directed by Senkichi Taniguchi from Akira Kurosawa's screenplay. It was the first film role for Toshirō Mifune, later to become one of Japan's most famous actors. Mifune and the other main actor in the film Takashi Shimura, later became long-term collaborators of film director Akira Kurosawa.

Synopsis

The story follows the fate of three bank robbers (Mifune, Takashi Shimura, and Yoshio Kosugi) on the run from the police, who hide out high up in the snowy Japanese mountains in a remote lodge inhabited by an old man, his granddaughter and an intrepid mountaineer (Akitake Kono) trapped there by a recent blizzard. They don’t know that the men are criminals, and a tense standoff starts to unfold.

Mais c’est en apercevant la princesse et ses bijoux, qu’il décide d’aller voir d’un peu plus près la réalité.

Nine young samurai, including his nephew, believe that the lord chamberlain, Mutsuta, is corrupt after he tore up their petition against organised crime and said maybe he himself was behind the crimes. One of them tells the superintendent of this and he agrees to intervene. As the nine meet secretly at a shrine and discuss their problem, a ronin (Mifune) emerges from another room where he has been resting. The ronin has overheard their plans, and suggests that the superintendent is in fact the real corrupt official. While at first the samurai are insulted by his claims, they soon find themselves surrounded by the superintendent's men, proving that he was correct. The ronin hits a few of the attackers and bluffs their leader into leaving, taking only a small amount of money in reward to buy food because he is starving; however, after realizing that Mutsuta and his family must now be in danger, he decides to help the samurai bring down the corrupt officials.

Le lendemain l'armée du clan Azai est défaite, Kagami Yakeiji est fait prisonnier mais parvient à tuer son geôlier et à s'enfuir. Sasa Hayatenosuke est quant à lui blessé au combat. Il est recueilli et soigné par Oryo, qui avec son père est à la tête d'une bande de pillards qui dépouille les soldats tués au combat.
