The plot has been described as a black comedy and centers around a successful, middle aged man who becomes interested in questions about morality. The film was a co-production between companies from Estonia, Sweden and Finland.
Synopsis
The Temptation of St. Tony, notamment inspiré de grandes oeuvres surréalistes, met en scène l’histoire d’un homme d’âge mûr qui se retrouve dans le même genre de forêt obscure que celle que décrit Dante. Un problème inhabituel s’immisce dans sa vie calme et modérément aisée : une question de morale. Est-il possible d’être une bonne personne ? Qu’est-ce que cela signifie ? Qu’est-ce qu’on y gagne ? Dans son parcours vers une conscience plus tranquille mais dans une réalité de plus en plus compliquée, Tony rencontre des spécimens typiques de la société estonienne actuelle et vit des aventures excitantes et amusantes. Lentement et comme inévitablement, il perd son emploi, sa famille, son sens de la réalité, et se perd lui-même.Actors
