Alia Bhatt (born 15 March 1993) is an Indian actress who appears in Bollywood films. The daughter of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and actress Soni Razdan, Bhatt first appeared on screen as a child in a minor role in the thriller Sangharsh (1999). As an adult, she made her acting debut with Karan Johar's romantic drama Student of the Year (2012).
Bhatt's portrayal of a teenage girl who develops stockholm syndrome in Imtiaz Ali's road movie Highway (2014) garnered critical acclaim. She won the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress and also garnered a Best Actress nomination at the same ceremony. She went on to establish herself in Bollywood by starring opposite Arjun Kapoor in the romantic drama 2 States (2014) and Varun Dhawan in the romantic comedy Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014).
In addition to acting in films, Bhatt has sung two of her film songs. She participates in stage shows, and has launched her own line of clothing for women.

Alia Bhatt naît à Bombay dans l'état du Maharashtra, le 15 mars 1993. Elle est la fille du réalisateur Mahesh Bhatt et de l'actrice Soni Razdan. Son père est d'origine gujarati et sa mère est d'ascendance cachemirienne et allemande. Son grand-père paternel est le réalisateur Nanabhai Bhatt. Elle a une sœur aînée, Shaheen, née en 1988 et deux demi-frères et sœurs, Pooja Bhatt et Rahul Bhatt. Le film Kalank se situe en 1945 dans une Inde pré-indépendante, où le monde solennel, élitiste et opulent de la famille Chaudhry, et celui de Hira Mandi, le quartier pauvre, sauvage, mystérieux et musical de la ville, s’affrontent lorsque Roop Chaudhry rencontre Zafar, forgeron casse-cou, bagarreur et coureur de jupons. De nombreuses vérités cachées commencent à se dévoiler à mesure que les tensions communautaires augmentent et que la partition se rapproche. Roop a contracté un mariage de raison avec Dev Chaudhry à la demande de Satya, sa femme mourante. Humpty stumbles upon the idea of victimizing Gurpreet’s ex that would also avenge Gurpreet, and gather the money for the wedding dress for Kavya. They manage to get some money, but Kavya isn’t happy about the way that money is obtained. However, the ensuing adventures make Kavya fall for Humpty, and the night before she’s supposed to return home to Ambala, they sleep together.They had sex under a black sheet fully nude. Humpty took kavya's virginity. When Humpty asks her if she loves him, she says she won’t go against the wishes of her father, who has arranged her marriage with an NRI. In order to help Humpty get the money for Kavya’s dress, Humpty’s father and friends chip in. Kavya reluctantly accepts the money and leaves Delhi.
