Arthur Weiss (13 June 1912 – 26 August 1980) was an American script writer for two decades on action/adventure TV shows like Mission: Impossible, Mannix, The Fugitive, Super Friends, The Time Tunnel and Sea Hunt. His most famous creation was the script for the movie Flipper in 1963, which became a TV series and was remade as a movie in 1996. He also worked alongside Irwin Allen as a writer and producer for "disaster" TV films including Flood! and Fire!.
In 1969 Weiss published the novel O'Kelly's Eclipse about the undefeated British racehorse Eclipse.
Weiss married actress Fay Baker on 3 August 1940. He divorced in 1965 and later married Patricia Jones.

Engineer Cal Miller's unauthorized attempt to close off the dangerously unstable Madison Bridge is foiled by the police pursuit of a robbery suspect. The chase ends in a multi-car accident in the middle of the bridge, which begins falling apart during the confusion. Miller organizes a rescue operation for the handful of bystanders who find themselves stranded with the armed suspect and a wounded policeman on a short stretch of crumbling pavement high atop a single collapsing pylon.

Sandy Ricks (Luke Halpin) is a young boy living in the Florida Keys who rescues and befriends a dolphin injured by a harpoon. His father, fisherman Porter Ricks (Chuck Connors) is upset as dolphins compete for fish which jeopardizes the family income. He is also upset that, after befriending the dolphin, Sandy neglects his chores especially those assigned by his Dad repairing various items damaged by a dangerous hurricane, from which Sandy and Porter escape at the beginning of the movie.

The story opens with a transmission received by the White House from the renegade Professor Cunningham, who threatens Washington DC with nuclear destruction from a missile fired from his submarine Raven. His extortion demand is one billion dollars in gold bullion. To demonstrate his capability he blows up small island with the Raven's 'Delta beam'.
