Biography
In the 1980s, Cheng dated Hong Kong actress Ann Bridgewater. In 1991, Cheng was married to Japanese actress Yukari Oshima but they divorced four years later.Cheng had since settled down in Malaysia since 1999 with his Malaysian wife Ailyn Pow whom he met during a shoot, they have a daughter named Jada.

“ Lucifer and his gangsters dress their minibus to resemble a police vehicle, and pose as policemen for a robbery. Police Officer Tsui sensed "criminal intent." Without police orders, he investigates these gangsters. At the robbery the gangsters engage in a gunfight against the real criminals, who kill randomly. Lucifer and his men are infuriated. They may wear police costumes and use toy guns, but their passion is real. Sensing their righteous passion, Tsui decides to side with the impostors and their 16-passenger EU vehicle. Lucifer and his men re-discover the bond they felt when they used to battle together. An armoured truck carrying $100 million of cash is attacked by a criminal gang who call themselves the "Ronin Gang" with explosives as it stops at a traffic junction in front of a jewellery shop. All the security guards are shot dead except one, while responding police officers suffer serious casualties under the gunfire of the heavily armed gang members. The explosions also kill several civilians, including a lady in the shop. Six months later, the same gang reappears in Hong Kong, injuring a group of policemen, two critically, during a spot check. The dead woman in the jewellery shop is CID detective Chan Chun's fiancée, while the injured policemen are led by Trainee Inspector Fong Yik-wei. Both officers vow revenge on the criminal gang.

During a shootout against Chinese Triads at a San Francisco dock warehouse, FBI agents John Crawford (Jason Statham) and Tom Lone (Terry Chen) stumble across the notorious assassin Rogue (Jet Li), a former CIA assassin who now works for the Japanese Yakuza. Rogue ambushes Crawford and is about to execute him when Lone appears and shoots Rogue in the face, causing him to fall into the water. Rogue's body was never found and he is presumed dead. Lok is now holding his position as triad chairman of the Wo Shing society unthreatened in Hong Kong. The story begins in early Republican China. Chicken did not return for this film and Chan Ho Nam is on his own. He finds a beautiful new love interest's (Shu Qi) and has to deal with some young "Tung Sing" triad members trying to make something of themselves. Ice (Christine Ng), the leader of the killer organisation, sets a rule that whoever failed to achieve a task must die. Her underlings include her right-hand man Ko Sau (Andy Lau), nicknamed "Judge". During a mission, Ko Sau meets a fellow newcomer Yu-fung (Anita Yuen). During that time, he develops feelings for her. However, due to his lonely personality and the principles of an assassin career, it stalls the relationship. Despite this, they are still able to spend happy times together. During another mission, Ko Sau fails to complete the task when he saves a child. He apologizes to Ice and is willing to work unconditionally for her. However, Ice is determined to stick to the rules and sends Yu-fung to kill Ko, which Yu-feng is reluctant to do. On the other hand, hard boiled police inspector Tung Fai (Waise Lee) has gathered evidence of the organisation and holds a large scale hunt for Ko Sau and Ice's bodyguard Wong Cheung (Mark Cheng), who swears to kill Ko for revenge from a gunshot wound Ko had inflicted on him earlier. Under a lone and weak environment, with enemies all around him, Ko Sau and Yu-fung's relationship is also severely tested.
