Dilip Dhawan (1955–2000) was a film and television actor.

Starting his career as a child artiste in Sangharsh (1968), featuring Dilip Kumar, Dhawan acted in over 50 films.

He acted as the hero in the movie Arvind Desai Ki Ajeeb Dastaan in 1978. Best known for his role as Guru in the television serial Nukkad, Dhawan also acted in serials like Janam, Deewar and Tere Mere Sapne. He was a well-known movie actor, known for mostly supporting roles (and a few major roles) in Ek Baar Kaho (1980), Albert Pinto Ko Gussa Kyon Ata Hai (1980), Sazaye Maut (1981), Saaheb (1985), Dak Bangla (1987), Hero Hiralal (1988), Swarg (1990), Izzatdaar (1990), Heena (1991), Madhosh (1994), Yash (1996), Virasat (1997), Hum Saath-Saath Hain: We Stand United (1999) and Raja Ko Rani Se Pyar Ho Gaya (2000).

He was also the producer of the movie Saath Saath made in 1982.

He died on February 15, 2000, in Mumbai, at the age of 45, of a heart attack.

He has two brothers in the film industry - Anil Dhawan and David Dhawan

After completing his studies in London, Shakti Thakur (Anil Kapoor) returns to the small Indian town where his family resides. Accompanying him is his girlfriend, Anita (Pooja Batra), whom he is in love with and wants to marry, much to the disapproval of his family. After a few days, Shakti starts to feel that nothing much has changed in this part of India and longs to leave. He tells his father that he would like to sell his share in the family land and would open Restaurant business and settle with his girlfriend, to this his Father(Amrish Puri) urges him to stay in the village and uplift it with his education, by saying "A man gets Education not to become a selfish being but to uplift his uneducated brothers and society". Shakti does not agree with his father and decides to leave. He is unable to bear the animosity between the townspeople in general and in particular between his Zamindar dad, Raja Thakur (Amrish Puri), and rival Zamindar Birju (Govind Namdeo), none other than Raja's crippled brother.

Vikram Rai (Mangal Dhillon) is a talented singer, unknown however in the singing world. Kalpana (Sonu Walia), the daughter of Kailashnath Sahai (Ajit Vachani) who is the owner of a singing company, is however won over by his singing and marries him against her father's wishes. They have a son whom they name Yash (Bijay Anand). As time passes Kalpana realises that she has married the wrong man. She leaves her husband and son and returns to her father's house. Kalpana's desertion is a real challenge for Vikram and after sending Yash to a hostel, he works hard and eventually becomes the owner of a company. Yash turns out to be a handsome young man in love with a girl, Angel (Kartika Rane), who is the daughter of a music teacher. Yash now feels rejected by both his parents - his mother who is more in love with money and his father who has fallen in love with Asha (Natasha Sinha). After taking training in music from Mr. Joseph, he becomes pop singer and gets a lot of fame. Seeing this his mother and grandfather wish to bring him into their company, but he refuses. In order to take revenge, Kailashnath destroys Vikram. When Yash learns of this, he comes to his father's help. Is Yash able to re-establish his father? Was he able to bring his parents together? This is the climax of Yash.

Living in a luxurious mansion named Swarg, this is the story of Mr. Kumar or Sahabji (Rajesh Khanna) a rich businessman and his wife (Madhavi) sister Jyoti (Juhi Chawla), two brothers Vicky (Raja Bundela) and Ravi (Dilip Dhawan), and a sister-in-law (Neena Gupta). He also has a loyal servant, Krishna (Govinda). Sahabji has a clash of wits with Dhanraj (Paresh Rawal), a dishonest man who successfully schemes with Sahabji's two brothers and sets fire in Sahabji's factory, citing short circuit as the reason and takes over the luxurious mansion and vast business empire, leaving Sahabji virtually penniless, and devastated with the passing away of his wife. His brothers have now taken over the money, the mansion and his business. Krishna was scolded & slapped very painfully and was asked by sahabji to leave the mansion because he was charged of stealing Jyoti's necklace by Sahabji's brothers and sister-in-law. Later, he comes to know that Sahabji intentionly banished him so that he can do something better in life. Krishna moves to Mumbai and meets a man (airport) and become friends. He works hard, becomes a superstar and returns to find his Sahabji and teaches a good lesson to Dhanraj (sets fire in Dhanraj mills) and buys the mansion. He also teaches a nice lesson to Sahabji's cheater brothers by committing fraud in business with them (as they did not know that their partner was krishna because they never saw him). Later, Krishna buys Sahabji's former bungalow. He finds Sahabji and Jyoti in a pitiable condition. He brings them back to the bungalow. Sahabji's brothers realise their mistake. Krishna forgives them and brings them back to the bungalow. The brothers ask for forgiveness from Sahabji. At this point, Sahabji suffers from heart attack. He forgives his brothers. He also approves Jyoti and Krishna's relationship and tells them to marry. Later, Sahabji dies leaving his family.

Mr. Sharma (Utpal Dutt) lives with his four sons (Biswajeet, Vijay Arora, Dilip Dhawan) and a daughter, Geeta or Butlie. Only the youngest son, Sunil (Anil Kapoor) and Geeta are unmarried. Mr. Sharma arranges his daughter's marriage with a man who will be re-locating to London, U.K. The family requires Rs.50,000/- for the expenses, and will even go to the extent of selling their house. Sunil or Saaheb as he is referred to, is the black sheep of the family - unemployed & uneducated - only interested in playing football. None of the elder brothers have any means of coming up with money for the expenses, and two of them even scheme with their respective wives to take over the house. Mr. Sharma attempts to raise the money, in vain. Sunil then makes the ultimate sacrifice for the marriage of his sister, and brings the money to his dad. His dad believes that Sunil has stolen the money, and Sunil is forced to lie about where he got the money from. The family only finds out after the marriage ceremony is over, and do not hesitate to blame him. It is then Sujata (Raakhee) reveals the secret of how the money came to Sunil's possession.

Popular musician Amrit Kumar Saxena usually performs on stage to entertain his fans. On one occasion he red-handily caught Bhagwat Singh alias B.K. stealing priceless jewelery but instead of reporting this to the police Amrit keep this to himself. B.K. then schemes with his girlfriend, Luska to frame Amrit for the stolen jewelery resulting in him getting sentence to jail for two years. But Amrit gets release within a year due to good conduct; it is here he thinks about closing in on B.K. and Luska resulting in a physical exercise which ends up leaving Luska dead. For fear of another arrest Amrit flee the scene only to end up boarding a train; here he gets to meet his childhood friend Vijay, his wife, Juhi and their son, Munna. Unfortunately the train meets in an accident resulting in the death of Juhi and Vijay. Amrit then reaches Munna to Juhi's residence to be introduced to her father, Mr. Sinha who recognizes him as his son-in-law, Vijay and refuses to part with him; while Amrit is apprehensive to stay he is convinced by the family's doctor that Mr. Sinha is a heart patient. It is then Amrit decides to stay on and help Mr. Sinha pull together his business; it is here Amrit starts to develop feelings for this family and Mr. Sinha decides to make him his heir to all his assets. Time passes and Amrit starts to fall in love with Juhi's sister, Reshmi only to be told that Juhi is still alive albeit with a blank memory. Juhi returns home with Dr. Joshi who is none other than Bhagwat Singh who wants to utilize this opportunity to not only expose Amrit's true reality to the Sinhas but to settle scores with Amrit for the death of his girlfriend.

Malika Modi lives a very wealthy lifestyle with her widowed dad in India where they own vast acres of land and businesses. When Mr. Modi suddenly passes away, he leaves all the business's interests with his younger brother conditionally until Malika turns 25. Shortly before she turned 25, Malika is told by a young man, Uday Jagirdar, that she is about to get killed, and the person to kill her is none other than Uday himself. Malika disbelieves him and runs for her life. She finds out that Uday is not chasing her but another man, Anil Suri, an employee of her uncle's. Malika knows now that she has no choice but to seek help from Uday, her very own paid assailant.
