All the episodies have sex as main theme and all star Nino Manfredi, who plays seven different characters. The film represents the last collaboration between Manfredi and Risi, after Operazione San Gennaro and Straziami ma di baci saziami. For this film Manfredi was awarded with a David di Donatello for Best Actor.
Vedo nudo gained a huge commercial success, and was followed by two unofficial sequels, Sessomatto and Sesso e volentieri, both directed by Risi.

Marino and Marisa are two villagers of a small mountain village in the Marche region, where the mentality of the people is still very backward. The two love each other very much and want to marry, but because of one day Marisa Marino is forced to leave for Rome. The experience of the trip and the sudden and drastic change in life is too big for Marisa. A blind Italian captain, accompanied by his aide Ciccio, who has been assigned to him by the army, is on his way from Turin to Naples to meet with an old comrade who was also disfigured in the same military incident. Unknown to his aide, the Captain means to fulfill a suicide pact there. While they journey, the Captain asks Ciccio to help him spot beautiful women. Unsatisfied with the boy's descriptions, he uses his nose instead, claiming that he can smell a beautiful woman. During their journey, he carries with him a picture of his beloved Sara, whom he could not bear to have see him disfigured and helpless. The suicide pact is eventually thwarted once Sara enters the picture, and the boy Ciccio does some much-needed growing up.

Set in Rome and its surroundings, the film tells in a frighteningly realistic, ruthless and grotesque the evil of two powerful men of Italy in the seventies: a Director of illegal buildings (Vittorio Gassman), extremist fascist, and an upright judge, cynical looking in part to the Italian law (Ugo Tognazzi). Both can not stand each other, given the contrasts between the two men in any social, political and philosophical. Everyone hates each other and would like to delete it, but just because of the bad example that the two men give power to the people, many Italians are adversely affected because of cheating and rudeness of the fascist manufacturer and the communist magistrate. The director Dino Risi underlines the misdeeds and the weakness of the Italian people to react accordingly, by focusing on the story of these two men who are each other's opposite of the net.

In Italy in the Sixties, a gang of American thieves arrive in Naples to steal the famous Treasure of San Gennaro. However the Americans do not know how to move in the picturesque town. For the customs of the natives are too weird and incomprehensible to them. So the two men and the girl (the gang members) go to a prison, following the advice of a friend. There he would find the man who would have done in their case. It is a certain Don Vincenzo, a very famous in the city for his theft. He however, since it is known by everyone there, is treated in the prison as a gentleman by the guards with all possible facilities. The Americans, when they see this type of treatment, impossible in a country like them, remain quite stunned. Don Vincenzo warmly received them and advises them to go to Naples to look for a certain Armandino Girasole, said "Dudù". He, a young thief by profession, would help them steal the treasure of San Gennaro, fortunately not mentioned by the Americans to Don Vincenzo. Marco Ravicchio, responsable des relations publiques d'une modeste société de production cinématographique italienne, part pour Buenos Aires pour présenter un film lors d'un festival. Il est accompagné d'un scénariste vorace et sordide, deux actrices sans talent à la recherche de publicité et une troisième actrice, Luciana, qui n'est plus très jeune et qui espère trouver un mari argentin fortuné. A Buenos Aires, le groupe est importuné par un riche émigrant italien, l'ingénieur Marucchelli, qui a fait de la nostalgie son passe-temps favori. Marco n'obtient pas de le prêt de son ami Stefano, émigré des années auparavant et demande l'argent à l'ingénieur Marucchelli qui ne lui donne que des belles paroles. A la fin du festival, le groupe retourne en Italie avec un peu d'expérience et beaucoup déception.
