Kacheri Arambam (Tamil: கச்சேரி ஆரம்பம், English: Celebration/Performance Begins) is a 2010 Indian Tamil action comedy film directed by Thiraivannan, starring Jiiva and Poonam Bajwa in the lead roles, whilst, J. D. Chakravarthy plays a pivotal role. The film released on 19 March 2010 and received mostly negative reviews but became a successful venture.

Synopsis

The film begins at a journey in train where Paari (Jiiva) looks back at everything. Cut to the beginning, one remote village in Ramanathapuram. Paari is a do-gooder helping everyone in need. A magnanimous man, he gives anything and everything to others if they ask for. Promising his dad (Azhagam Perumal) to earn more, Paari sets out to Chennai. But he faces more challenges. He meets a young girl Madhi (Poonam Bajwa) and falls in love with her. Some goons also cause trouble for Paari. Meanwhile, Sivamani (J D Chakravarthy), the dreaded but sophisticated don of the city is getting ready to marry Madhu. When the two stories meet, chaos ensue, it is now up to Paari and Sivamani to sort it out.

Govindan (Manivannan) is a thief who has two children: Aadhi (Pasupathy) and Arivumathi (Vikram). In an attempt to teach Kalingarayar a lesson, Mathi forcibly ties the mangalsutram around Seetha's neck. Kalingarayar, realizing his daughter's love for Mathi, comes down to arrange a grand remarriage between the two. But things go awry when Manicka Vel (Biju Menon), Seetha Lakshmi's maternal uncle, comes to town in an effort to stop the wedding between the two as he has plans of marrying her and wiping her family fortune.

At this juncture, Daddy reveals that his person was in the police department when he is cornered by Viswanath's team without evidence. Chandu (J. D. Chakravarthy), who is also a cop was raised by Daddy. Chandu is in love with his new neighbor Satya (Madhurima Tuli). Chandu is the one who was helping Daddy's gang. At the same time, Viswanath also tells Daddy that his man was also with Daddy's gang. So both the teams break their heads to find out the black sheep. But they could not do so. Malli once visits the hospital and doctors tell him that he should keep his mother happy always. Malli reveals his identity but is mother did not believe it. To prove his words correct, Malli tells Viswanath to visit his mother once. At the same time, Daddy's gang attacks the building and in the melee, Viswanath dies. After a few days, Chandu, in order to escape from the blackmailing tactics of Daddy, shoots him to death in an encounter. Chandu's still evil. Malli realizes that Chandu was working for Daddy. Malli proves that Chandu's evil. Malli also proves that he's an undercover police officer. One of the officers kills Chandu. Malli's mother gets released from the hospital. Prasad wants Malli to go undercover again. This time, Malli's going undercover in Pakistan.

But during the marriage the guys family misunderstood that Meena and Sarathkumar are lovers and stopped the marriage. In the end; Sarathkumar married Meena.
