J.R. (Harvey Keitel) is a typical Catholic Italian-American young man on the streets of New York City. Even as an adult, he stays close to home with a core group of friends with whom he drinks and carouses around. He gets involved with a local girl (Zina Bethune) he meets on the Staten Island Ferry, and decides he wants to get married and settle down. As their relationship deepens, he declines her offer to have sex because he thinks she is a virgin and he wants to wait rather than "spoil" her., 1h35

The film starts with colorful 1960s music by composer Anton Abril, accompanied by Marcello Giombini’s wordless song Seli (soprano by Edda Dell'Orso) and some psychedelic opening credits. The opening scene is some poorly duplicated stock footage of rockets blasting off and low budget special effects., 1h35

A London museum's warehouse burns down leaving undamaged a statue, that the museum curator, Mr. Grove, identifies as "Mid-European Primitive." He is accompanied by his assistant, Arthur Pimm. While Pimm goes to get a flashlight for Grove for his further investigation of the statue, Grove is killed and found at the foot of the statue. This begins a series of unexplained deaths connected with the statue, which is later positively identified as the Golem of Judah Loew of the 16th century. An inscription in Hebrew heightens the suspense and horror of the story:, 1h28

Synopsis from Doomed Marathon: "A group of tourists travel to an island to see its exotic botanicals. There they meet Baron von Weser (played by Cameron Mitchell), a reclusive scientist studying rare horticulture and experimenting with crossbreeding dangerous varieties of plants. One of the Baron’s creations is draining the blood of human beings (through a small hole in their cheek) and the tourists are dying one by one."
