Add to a movie listBodyguard is a 2011 Indian action film directed by Siddique. It is a remake of the director's own 2010 Malayalam film of the same name starring Dileep and Nayantara. The film was produced by Atul Agnihotri and featured Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor in the lead roles. It also stars Raj Babbar, Mahesh Manjrekar and Hazel Keech in supporting roles. The film's first look and theatrical trailer was unveiled on 21 July 2011. Bodyguard was released on 31 August 2011 across 2,250 screens in 70 Indian cities and with 482 prints across the overseas territory. Bodyguard was released in 3250 theatres worldwide.
The film broke many records upon its release. Within the first day of its release, it went on to become the highest opening day grosser as well as the biggest grosser ever for a single day up until then. The film set another box office record, netting ₹1.03 billion (US$16 million) in its first week, thus becoming the highest opening week grossing Bollywood film. The film became a major commercial success with a worldwide gross of ₹2.3 billion (US$35 million).
Synopsis
Lovely Singh (Salman Khan) is assigned as Divya's (Kareena Kapoor) bodyguard to protect her from goons hunting her to take revenge against her father, a kind and successful politician. Lovely is very devoted to his duties—but irritates Divya by following her everywhere. Divya and her friend Maya (Hazel Keech) call Lovely; with Divya pretending to be a girl, Chhaya madly in love with Lovely, hoping this will distract him from his work.Actors

The film opens with a flashback showing the family feud between families of Sathyaprathapan (Mammootty) and Bhavani (Indraja). Sathyaprathapan's sister and Bhavani's cousin are in love. The murder of Bhavani's cousin Vishnu, is wrongly accused on Balagangadharan (Lalu Alex), father of Sathyaprathapan. Sathyaprathapan's sisters commits suicide and Sathyaprathapan turns against his father. He starts to help Bhavani's family and mortgages his own house to finance her factory. A love develops between Sathyaprathapan and Bhavani. But Bhavani's greedy father wants to destroy Sathyaprathapan's family and tries to take their home. That is when Parameshwara Maman shows up, Sathyaprathapan's mom requests Maman to prove Balagangadharan's innocence. Parameshwara Mama and Sathyaprathapan finds Kuruvilla who witnessed the murder being committed by Bhavani's father goons. Meanwhile we see that Sathyaprathapan's mom faints and dies in the hospital. While in the hospital, his mom tells how Balagangadharan had a different wife and he should ask them forgiveness. He storms into Bhavani's house and accuses her dad, also trying to make her understand the truth but she doesn't believe him and stands by her father. Then Sathyaprathapan says he doesn't love her any more and vows that he will never trust a woman by remaining a chronic bachelor forever.

Bodyguard revolves around young Jayakrishnan (Dileep), who has a very strange habit; he adulates anyone with a trace of heroism.
