The film entered the competition at the 39th Venice Film Festival, in which it won the Silver Lion for best first work. Odorisio was awarded best new director at the San Sebastián International Film Festival, while Tino Schirinzi won a Silver Ribbon for best supporting actor.
Synopsis
In Abruzzo, in the town of Chieti, a group of friends workers, with the passion of classical music, try to rebuild a historic city orchestra, which no longer exists. The final concert provides only compositions the famous composer Frédéric Chopin, and the citizens of Chieti seem willing to finance the project. However, the mayor and local officials are skeptical, because the think only to their interests. So the project soon failed, but the workers come from defeat with a smile.Actors

Nico (Sebastiano Nardone) et sa femme Alba (Elena Sofia Ricci) sont les propriétaires du Motel Nevada, un petit hôtel de campagne, avec une station-service incluse géré par leur employé, Giogiò (Francesco Scali ). Faute de clients, le couple vivote entre problèmes financiers et jeux érotiques. Pour résoudre leurs problèmes d'argent, Nico demande de l'aide à Marcello (Andrea Roncato), le propriétaire d'une émission de radio, dans le but de faire de la publicité à son établissement. Alba et Marcello entame alors une liaison, puis Alba décide d'éliminer Nico afin de vivre avec Marcello. Ce dernier, bien qu'en désaccord avec cette idée, finit par l'accepter. Alors qu'il se présente à l'hôtel pour faire disparaître Nico, il le trouve mort. Les problèmes commencent alors.

In Naples the Commissioner Rizzo, said "Flatfoot", defeats a gang of drug traffickers. The criminals, from Marseille, were peddling drugs using frozen fish, but Flatfoot has managed to arrest them, with the help of a boss of the Neapolitan underworld, called Manomozza. After the arrest however Flatfoot discovers that Manomozza did the double game and now intends to forge an alliance with the traffickers "Marseilles". Flatfoot, thanks to the tip from a friend, finds the place and time of the meeting between drug dealers, and by punches he sends everyone in the cell.

Starring Paolo Bonolis, Sergio Rubini and Stefania Rocca, the film mocks the Italian political class and its hypocrisy. The zealot politician Massimo (Paolo Bonolis), proponent of a law about the defense of family, has a secret flirt with Martina, a young emerging actress (Elena Santarelli). To divert any suspicions, he brings his family on holiday to Paris, leaving his beloved looked after by his driver, Mariano (Sergio Rubini). After photos portraying Mariano and Martina as lovers are published on local gossip magazines, Mariano's wife faints, is hospitalized and leaves him. Massimo comes back to Rome thinking to be out of danger, but Massimo and Martina will revenge on him. The happy ending comes on Christmas's eve when the truth bobs up.
