Synopsis
Five segments. The collision between a van of religious, supporters of the Christian Democrats, and a Fiat 600 with on board a group of young militants of the PCI. Misadventures of a prostitute who works into a caravan placed under a viaduct. A walker faces a foot race to the beat of music. The poor Urbano Cacace impersonates a traffic policeman in order to feed his family. A woman with her brand new car hit a man who tries to take advantage of the incident attempting an insurance scam.Actors

Propriétaire d’un grand magasin, le commendatore "Fernandone", est obsédé par un cauchemar où il rencontre un jeune homme qu’il ne connait pas mais qu’il déteste profondément. Un jour, un certain Walter Milani, docteur en sciences économiques, vient le trouver à la recherche d’un emploi ; il est timide et il a le malheur de ressembler exactement à celui que le commendatore voit dans ses cauchemars. Dès que ce dernier l’aperçoit, il entre en rage et, tout en criant : « C’est lui, c’est lui !!! », il lui ordonne de s’en aller. Son médecin traitant, qui est en même temps son meilleur ami, se trouve au même moment dans son bureau et il lui conseille de regarder la réalité en face : qu’il garde cet homme avec lui dans le grand magasin, qu’il lui donne un travail et son cauchemar disparaitra.

Don Franco and Don Ciccio are the respective pastors of the two principal parishes of a village in Sicily. The two have different ideals about society, and so they always fight by way: Don Franco is a priest more open to the social level, which supports the protests of the young communists, while Don Ciccio is a severe priest of the old school, who speaks in Latin and who hates communists protesters. One day the two bitterly quarrel over a disputed land of the city: Don Franco would create there a public park, with the support of the communists, while Don Ciccio would fain give it to the municipality for other interests. So the two fathers decide to settle the matter with a game of football.
