The film was directed by Christian-Jaque, who co-wrote screenplay with Cécil Saint-Laurent and Jacques Sigurd, based on a novel by Alfred Schirokauer. The film tells the story of the Borgia family of Italy during the Renaissance.
It was released on DVD in the US on May 26, 2009.
Synopsis
Dans la Rome pontificale de la fin du XV siècle, César Borgia use et abuse de son ascendant sur sa sœur Lucrèce, voluptueuse créature. Au gré de sa politique, il combine les mariages de Lucrèce. Sforza éliminé, elle doit épouser Alphonse d'Aragon. Elle se soumet et reconnaît avec joie dans son futur époux l'inconnu qu'elle a comblé de ses faveurs un soir de carnaval. Le dégoût du duc d'Aragon le cède bientôt à l'amour. Hélas, César rêve d'une nouvelle alliance. Il fait assassiner Alphonse. Résignée, douloureusement passive, Lucrèce devra épouser le duc d'Este.Actors

Shortly before the war, strange things happen at night at the School of Saint-Agil. Students begin to disappear... Three students of Saint-Agil, Beaume Sorgue and Macroy, have created a secret society to prepare leaving for America. One evening, one of them, Sorgue, sees a man through a wall in the natural sciences class. He then disappears after having been sent to the principal's office. When Macroy vanishes in turn, the whole institution is in turmoil. The last member of the secret society still at school, Beaume, might be expelled as well after the yearly school party. During this party, Lemel, the alcoholic art teacher, dies after a fall when a power outage leaves the school in the black. Everyone believes in an accident but Beaume decides to investigate. He chooses to disappear as well and, with the help of the mysterious and spooky English teacher, he manages to discover the counterfeiting business at work in the school insides.

The film is set in France during the Seven Years' War. As the film begins, Fanfan (Gérard Philipe) is a charming, attractive young man who is trying to escape a shotgun marriage. At this vulnerable point in his life, he is approached by the daughter of a recruiting officer, Adeline (played by Gina Lollobrigida), who tells him that if he joins the army, he will find fame, fortune, and will marry the king's daughter. Accordingly he joins the army, only to discover that she made the whole thing up in order for her father to get a recruiting bonus. Nevertheless, encouraged by a series of improbable circumstances, he accepts her prediction as his destiny. A series of events ensues which shows off to great advantage his athleticism and leadership ability. As the film progresses, we become aware of a developing attraction between himself and Adeline which however conflicts with his perceived “destiny” of marrying a king's daughter.

Nathalie est un pimpant mannequin chez le couturier Boran. À l'issue d'une représentation de mode, la comtesse de Lancy l'accuse de vol d'un précieux clip et le commissaire Pipart la soupçonne effectivement. Mais Nathalie se débat comme un beau diable, retrouve le clip, le récupère et voulant le rendre à la comtesse, trouve celle-ci assassinée. Elle était à la tête d'une bande combattue par une autre bande qui enlève Nathalie, prise pour une complice de la comtesse. La jolie fille, futée, joue à fond le double jeu et se fait aider par l'aimable inspecteur Marchal. Les bandits semblent toutefois gagner, et leur chef se dévoile, c'est le couturier Boran, mais Nathalie a plus d'un tour dans son sac et dame le pion au commissaire Pipart.
