Au cours du début des années 1980 il a joué un rôle majeur dans le développement de la scène Cantopop comme il était connu pour chanter des ballades romantiques avec des arrangements modernes. En 2008, il est toujours actif dans l'industrie musicale, sortant de nouveaux albums sur une base régulière. Depuis la fin des années 1980, il a servi en tant que mentor pour l'industrie musicale Cantopop, gagnant le surnom de «Principal» ou « Tam Hau Cheung". Aujourd'hui, il est régulièrement vus à travers les médias de Hong Kong, en Chine, à Taiwan et diverses parties de l'Asie de participer à tous les types de spectacles et des événements liés aux activités caritatives.Jusqu'en 2005, il a sorti plus de 104 albums, et plus de 800 chansons(cantonais, mandarin, japonais, anglais...etc)

The film takes place in Huizhou, Guangdong, China, October 1900. After failing to assassinate the governor-general by blowing up his mansion as part of the anti-Manchu Huizhou Uprising, revolutionary Shi Jianru is captured and executed. Guangzhou, Guangdong province, 1911: following other unsuccessful uprisings, Pan Dawei, deputy head of the Guangzhou department of the Tongmenghui, arrives by boat and smuggles weapons past customs officers. During a dinner party at the house of wealthy local trader Fang Hongzhi, head of the Guangxing business association, there is an assassination attempt on the Manchu Qing government's Marine Minister Li Zhun, which fails. Among the guests is Luo Zhonghuo, just arrived from Penang, Malaysia, who gets to know Fang's daughter, Huiru, also a revolutionary. Afterwards she takes him to the house of painter Gao Jianfu, head of the Tongmenghui's Guangzhou department. Zhonghuo is carrying a letter from Tongmenghui leader Sun Yat-sen, but neither Jianfu nor Dawei are sure whether he is a spy. To convince them he is genuine, Huiru suggests he tries raising some money for the movement from her father, by first becoming friendly with his cultured longtime mistress Jiang Meixi. Zhonghuo becomes Meixi's English tutor and helps Fang in getting a local gang off of the Guangxing's turf. As Chinese New Year arrives, Gao and Pan plan a mass suicide attack on the governor-general's residence - in what will become known as the Second Guangzhou Uprising of 27 April 1911.

Con artist Mandy Ling / Li Lai Shan cons a rich triad leader Lui Yu Yeung out of his money and gives it to a convalescent center where her mentally disturbed sister Mandy Li is staying. Earlier, she had also conned another triad leader out of a large sum of money in a poker game causing him to die from a heart attack. The triad leader states in his will that his son Ho Sik must avenge him by killing her with a gun. Cheung San-ho forces Ray to Macau to compete with him in gambling and has Ray to go to Macau to wait for his arrival. Coming back from the United States to Hong Kong in search of his cousin, he was swindled by con artists Big Dee and Leslie Mo, whom take his gambling stake and VIP card (an identification given from Cheung to Ray). The two counterfeit Ray's supreme identity (Leslie acts as Ray while Big Dee acts as his bodyguard) to Macau for gambling. Not long later, Ray catches up and catches them, but decided to let Leslie to impersonate him. Unexpectedly, Yeung Sing and Yeung Chun has evil intentions, planning to murder the three of them, and then frame Cheung. When Yeung Sing brings his three henchmen to kill them, Yeung Chun and Cheung arrives and Chun kills Sing. Cheung apologises to Ray for this incident, while Ray suggests Big Dee and Leslie to take part in the gambling competition, which Cheung agrees. During the final round of the competition, due to Cheung and Ray's rivalry for snipe and the clam, it allows Big Dee to get all the spoils of a small card to become the big winner. But after the game, Yeung Chun reveals his true self: he wanted to takes his boss Cheung's spot and hires Big Fool to kill him, but Big Fool did not listen to Chun because he is actually Ray's longtime friend. In the end, Yeung Chun gets his punishment. After that, Ray returns to the United States while Big Dee makes a deal with him that in a year later, he will truly beat Ray again at the gambling table.
