Autrefois, Imelda Rivera était mariée à un musicien talentueux. Ce dernier avait quitté sa femme et sa fille, Coco, pour poursuivre sa carrière musicale. En représailles, Imelda avait banni toute musique dans sa famille et créé une entreprise de cordonnerie, transmise de génération en génération. Dans le présent, son arrière-arrière-petit-fils, Miguel, âgé de 12 ans, vit avec sa famille, et Coco, son arrière-grand-mère, dans le petit village mexicain de Santa Cecilia. Il rêve de devenir un musicien comme Ernesto de la Cruz, vedette de la chanson et du cinéma, de la même génération qu'Imelda (ce dernier est mort lors d'une représentation, quand une énorme cloche lui est tombée sur la tête). Lors des préparatifs de la Fête des Morts, Miguel casse accidentellement le cadre de la photographie d'Imelda, au centre de l'autel, et découvre que son mari (dont la tête a été arrachée de la photographie) tenait la célèbre guitare blanche d'Ernesto. Plus tard dans la soirée, quand Miguel fait part à sa famille de son intention de participer au concours de talents du Jour des Morts, sa grand-mère Elena détruit sa guitare. Dusty Crophopper is a crop duster plane who works at a cornfield and practices aerobatic maneuvers in his spare time, dreaming of becoming a racer. His dreams are scorned by his boss, Leadbottom, and his forklift/mechanic friend, Dottie. However, he is supported by his fuel truck friend, Chug. Dusty and Chug train for qualifiers for the upcoming Wings Across the Globe race. On the night before the qualifiers, Dusty asks an elderly and reclusive navy war plane named Skipper Riley to teach him how to fly well, but Skipper refuses. The film takes place one year after the events of the first film. Elliot (Joel McHale) has grown giant new antlers and is getting married to Giselle (Jane Krakowski). But during a mishap, Elliot's new antlers are cracked off and now look like they did in the first film, which upsets him. Luckily, Boog (Mike Epps) and the others manage to cheer Elliot up by having a rabbit fight. But Elliot has new emotions about his marriage and feels reluctant to marry Giselle. In the last days of World War II in Europe, Captain America, due to enhancement by a "Super-Soldier Serum", prevents the Nazis from launching an intercontinental missile. They are also soon revealed to be shape-shifting extraterrestrials led by one acting as SS officer Herr Kleiser. The exploding missile knocks the Captain out and he falls into the icy waters of the North Atlantic, presumed dead. 60 years later, Captain America is found and revived by a S.H.I.E.L.D. team led by General Nick Fury. Bruce Banner and Betty Ross lead a team of scientists working to recreate the Super-Soldier Serum in order to try to stop the real power that backed the Nazis - the alien Chitauri. Banner thinks the Super-Soldier Serum is the key to him controlling the Hulk, and he secretly uses his blood to try to create a cure, instead of using candidates that had been selected for the rebirth procedure. As Captain America reunites with his old friend James "Bucky" Barnes, he also learns that his past lover Gail Richards, is married to him and has lived a happy life. Despite being happy for his friends and everyone that he loved, Captain America still feels lost in the present world he is in, unable to find happiness like he wants to.

In this adaptation of the Christmas story narrated by Charles Dickens himself with the occasional commentary of Rizzo the Rat, it is Christmas Eve in 19th century London. The merriment is not shared by Ebenezer Scrooge, a surly money-lender who is more interested in profit than celebration. So cold to the season of giving is he that his bookkeeping staff, including loyal employee Bob Cratchit, have to plead with him just to have a day off work for Christmas by pointing out that Scrooge would have no customers on the holiday and that it would waste coal to sit alone in the office. Scrooge's nephew Fred arrives to invite his uncle to Christmas dinner with him and two gentlemen also come to Scrooge's offices collecting money in the spirit of the season to provide a Christmas dinner for the poor. Scrooge declines and complains that it is not worth looking after the poor, as their deaths will decrease the surplus population. Fred is shocked at his uncle's ruthless nature, but repeats his invitation, makes his own donation, and departs. Bean Bunny shows up asking for a penny to hear his song, but Scrooge throws a wreath at him in response.
