Joseph "Joe" Estevez (born February 13, 1946) is an American actor, director, and producer.
He is the younger brother of actor Martin Sheen and the uncle of Emilio Estevez, Charlie Sheen, Renée Estevez, and Ramon Estevez.

Biography

Early life
Estevez was born in Dayton, Ohio to a Catholic, Galician-born father, Francisco Estévez (1898-1974), and an Irish mother, Mary Anne (née Phelan) (1903-1951). He is one of ten children—nine boys and one girl.

As a child, he lived in the South Park neighborhood of Dayton. During a family trip in April 1959, he participated in the White House Easter Egg Roll and met President Dwight D. Eisenhower. He attended Chaminade High School, a Catholic High School located in Dayton. Upon his graduation, he enlisted and served in the United States Navy.

Career
After serving in the U.S. Navy, Estevez began pursuing an acting career starting in the early 1970s. He initially used his mother's maiden name, Phelan, before using his surname, Estevez. Throughout his career, Estevez has appeared in numerous film and television roles in lead, supporting, and minor parts playing protagonists and antagonists, and he frequently appears in moderate and low-budget independent features and B-movies. In addition, he has worked as a voice-over artist and performs in stage productions. He has expressed in an interview that he wants to make movies that make a difference.

Estevez stood in for his brother in a number of long shots and in some of the voice-overs for Apocalypse Now (1979), as Martin Sheen was recovering from his heart attack.

He plays a villain, Cyrus, in the 2012 film Doonby, which features former Dukes of Hazzard star John Schneider as a mysterious stranger who comes into a small town and falls in love with the spoiled daughter of Estevez's character, the local doctor. He also co-stars with David Faustino in the feature Not Another B Movie released by Troma Entertainment in 2011.

Personal life
Joe Estevez has been married twice and is the father of three daughters. His second wife is actress Constance Anderson.

Estevez, unlike his older brother Martin Sheen, is politically conservative. The brothers' voices sound similar, and Estevez famously did the voice over for a National Shooting Sports Foundation pro-gunmaker commercial in 2000; at the time, his brother was famous for playing a fictional President of the United States on the television show The West Wing. Martin Sheen, who's been famous for his progressive politics, starred in a pro-gun control commercial that same year.

The film revolves around a business meeting at a restaurant between frustrated screenwriter Byron (Byron Thames), hack director Larry (Larry Thomas), and clueless producer James (James Vallo). Byron struggles in vain to stick to his original vision for a film, while Larry and James are intent on altering the script. Aside from their wishing to make money, they also want to create a film that will "make the audience walk out...in a good way!" Their shocking movie is tentatively titled "The Umpire Strikes Back", due to the "created" narrative revolving around a baseball ump (Reggie Bannister), who goes on a killing spree which includes a rip-off of the iconic black-and-white shower scene from Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho, but with a bat replacing the infamous knife.

Before the graduation is to occur, a young couple goes missing and within a few days a mutilated body is found in the water during a town fish festival. This initiates flashbacks in which Joan's dark past is learned. When Joan was 17, she and her best friend were kidnapped and tortured by a serial killer by the name of Bishop (Cotton). Bishop bound Joan and her friend to an autopsy table where one girl was tortured while the other had the power to make it stop simply by demanding the death of the friend. Joan was able to escape and kill her captor, but was left as the sole survivor of the spree with a scar on her cheek. With the present day's body count rising, questions arise whether Bishop had evaded death or if a new copy cat killer has arisen.

Flatland: The Movie begins with the 2-dimensional Arthur Square awaking from a dream of strange, glowing symbols. He lives with his wife, Arlene Square, and his curious granddaughter Hex, a hexagon. He rushes Hex to school and along the way they discuss the laws of inheritance: how each new generation of Flatlanders, beginning with triangles, gains a new side until the shapes become indistinguishable from circles. They also discuss how a citizen's shape affects their job, with triangles performing menial labor and circles ruling Flatland in the priest class. They witness a cruel incident where a Circle Priest arrests a slightly irregular octagon child, prompting Hex to yet again wonder about what happened to her pentagonal parents. Arthur tells her that he will tell her someday, and rushes her off to school.
