Melissa Marie Benoist (/bɛ'nɔɪst/) (born October 4, 1988) is an American actress and singer best known for her portrayal of the title character in the CBS series Supergirl.

She rose to fame as Marley Rose on season four and the first part of season five on the Fox musical comedy-drama television series Glee, and has also appeared in a number of television series including Homeland, The Good Wife and Law & Order.

Biography

Benoist has been married to her former Glee co-star Blake Jenner since March 2015.

In September 2014, nude photographs of Benoist were allegedly leaked as part of the 2014 celebrity photo hack. Benoist responded with a link to a TED talk on clickbait, stating that "incivility should not be supported."
