A.D. Vision (communément appelée ADV) est une compagnie américaine de divertissement multimédia basée à Houston (Texas). C'est la plus grande compagnie d'anime en Amérique du Nord.
Elle a été fondée en 1992 par John Ledford et Matt Greenfield. Leur propriété la plus populaire est la série d'anime de Gainax Neon Genesis Evangelion, lancée par ADV aux É.-U. en 1997 et rééditée plusieurs fois depuis. La compagnie a des bureaux en Amérique du Nord, en Europe et en Asie.

Les initiales « A.D. » proviennent de Animation Dubbing, pour « doublage d'animation » .

Rêves d'androïde est une réinterprétation du conte de Pinocchio. Le film raconte l'histoire d'une petite marionnette, Palme, que son créateur a chargé de prendre soin de son épouse souffrante, Xian. The film opens with a young girl named Jun Kazama crying over a rabbit killed by a bobcat. In order to make Kazuya stronger and prove his worth, Heihachi throws Kazuya off a cliff to his apparent death right in front of Jun's eyes.

Two companion sorceresses and on-and-off adversaries, the overpowered Lina Inverse and the underdressed Naga the Serpent, wander into the town of Stoner, famous of its entertainment golem makers. There, they rescue a young girl named Laia Einberg from an out-of-control golem. Lina and Naga expect to be rewarded for their not-so selfless deed, so Laia takes them to her workplace and introduces them to her father, Galia, and her brother, Huey. Galia is a renowned crafter of classic toy golems but lately he is struggling for money. He is also in conflict with Huey, his son and student, over their very opposing ideas as to how their golems should look and act like. Huey becomes infatuated with Naga's looks, while Galia takes a liking to Lina, and so they choose both sorceresses as models for their respective new golems.

A ship carrying plutonium collides with a floating atoll off the eastern coast of the Philippines, one of many incidents occurring throughout the area. As the anomalous formation approaches Japan, a team of scientists led by Naoya Kusanagi (Akira Onodera) discover orihalcum amulets and a stone slab covered in Etrurian runes on the atoll. During the investigation, the atoll suddenly quakes, destroying the slab and throwing the scientists into the ocean. One member of the team, Marine Officer Yoshinari Yonemori (Tsuyoshi Ihara), sees the eye and tusk of a giant turtle.
