Bac Films Distribution est une société de distribution cinématographique française basée à Paris, créé par Jean Labadie, Éric Heumann et Stéphane Sorlat en 1986.
Dès 1988, Vivendi entre dans le capital de la société à hauteur de 10 %, puis 20 %, et permet à la société de procéder à d'ambitieuses acquisitions. La success story débute en 1990 avec Sailor et Lula, Palme d'or au Festival de Cannes. Les sorties de Barton Fink et Tous les matins du monde en 1991, Indochine et Le Zèbre en 1992, La Leçon de piano en 1993 permettront de placer rapidement BAC Films au sommet de la distribution indépendante.
Bac Films entreprend en 1994 une diversification dans l'exploitation cinématographique avec la création de la société Les Écrans de Paris, en association avec Simon Simsi. En 1997, le pôle exploitation de salles est créé sous le nom Majestic, et le groupe se réorganise autour de la holding Alicar : Bac Films (distribution), Majestic (exploitation) et Séance Privée (événementiel). Premier distributeur en 1998, BAC Films créé Mars Films, qui lui permet alors d'assurer la diffusion de ses nombreuses acquisitions.
Le groupe est introduit en bourse en 2000 et prend le nom de Bac Majestic. Il connaît deux ans plus tard une grave crise financière, qui l'oblige à se séparer de sa branche exploitation. En 2003, la société Millimages devient actionnaire majoritaire de BAC Films. Jean Labadie, fondateur du groupe, en sera évincé en 2007. Roch Lener prend alors la direction de la société.
En octobre 2013, la société est à nouveau cédée, David Grumbach en est le nouveau Président.
Le catalogue est constitué aussi bien de titres étrangers que français. BAC films a distribué plus de 420 films depuis sa création, dont 9 ont obtenu la Palme d'or au Festival de Cannes. Le dernier en date est The Square, Palme d'or en 2017.
BAC Films fait partie du syndicat DIRE, qui regroupe plusieurs distributeurs indépendants tels que Diaphana, Pyramide Distribution, Memento Films ou Rezo Films.

Des années après que l'Europe ait été ravagée par un virus mortel, nommé Maze, qui transforma les humains en morts-vivants, un vaccin est enfin trouvé. The film revives themes of Angelopoulos' 1975 film The Travelling Players, and its events span from 1919 to the aftermath of World War II. It tells the story of Greek history through the sufferings of one family. A band of refugees that returns to Greece after the Russian Revolution adopts an orphaned girl, Eleni (Alexandra Aidini). Eleni becomes the focus of the story. The film follows her through adolescence and the marriage to her musician half-brother Alexis (Nikos Poursanidis). Eleni becomes pregnant by Alexis, and bears twin boys, who are sent away at birth. Many years later she is forced to marry her widowed adopted father. On her wedding day, Eleni escapes with Alexis to Thessaloniki, where they reunite with their sons. Their lives are then ripped apart by World War II and the ensuing Greek Civil War.

The roommates begin to develop a unique companionship as they struggle together through their cultural and linguistic challenges in their program. Martine pays Xavier a visit and returns disappointed when she realizes things are not the same. Meanwhile Xavier develops a romantic affair with the French doctor's wife, seducing her with tips he has been learning from his Belge lesbian roommate. The English roommate Wendy's brother William visits for some time and turns out to be quite abrasive with his culturally insensitive comments, creating tension among the roommates. Martine eventually breaks up with Xavier, bringing him to depression and hallucinations. When Xavier seeks the French doctor's advice, he reveals that Anne-Sophie told him everything and tells him to stop seeing her. As the discordance among the roommates escalates, their friendship is repaired as they team up to help Wendy elude a sticky situation (her boyfriend Alister makes a surprise visit while she was hooking up with an American). After leaving Barcelona and bidding farewell to his many close friends, Xavier returns to Paris and gets the job at the Ministry but realizes he misses his experiences that now make him a different person. He subsequently runs away on his first day and pursues his dream to become a writer, recounting the story of his experiences in the Auberge Espagnole.
