Synopsis
While hiding from the royal authorities, Giacomo Casanova (Tony Curtis), the famous romancer, encounters his look-alike: Jacomino, a fugitive petty con man. Meanwhile, the Caliph and his wife arrive in Venice for a state visit, and she insists on a night with the legendary lover. Through a series of erotic encounters and mistaken-identity comedies, Jacomo and Jacomino make their way back to Venice for their appointment with the Caliph's wife.Actors

Susanne Delberg (Teri Tordai as Terry Torday) who has become Countess Süderland dies under absurd circumstances. It is revealed that Susanne had a daughter, the heiress to her inheritance but her identity is obscure, although it is known that she has been living in a convent. The handsome executor Vincent van der Straten (Gabriele Tinti) is assigned for the task. There are five possible candidates: Françoise (Maja Hoppe), Clarissa (Femi Benussi as Femy Benussi), Susanne (Sonja Jeannine), Piroschka (Marika Mindzenthy), and Anselma (Alena Penz). Susanne Delberg (Teri Tordai as Terry Torday) and her friend Ferdinand (Harald Leipnitz) are assigned by Count Andrea (Béla Ernyey) to deliver some documents to his brother Enrico (Jeffrey Hunter), in order to save their family assets from Leduc (Jacques Herlin), the counsellor of Elisa Bonaparte (Pascale Petit). The duo and Susanne's prostitutes guised as an actors' troupe travel to Lucca in the Kingdom of Etruria, managing to save Enrico from an assassination attempt by Leduc and rescue him. On returning to Germany, they learn that Napoleon (Heinrich Schweiger) will meet with Elisa (accompanied by Leduc) in Giessen, Grand Duchy of Hesse and see this as a chance to settle their scores with Leduc.

In the Kingdom of Westphalia, a drunken inkeeper woman (Ljuba Welitsch), just before her death, bequeaths her inn to Susanne Delberg (Teri Tordai as Terry Torday), barring the sole beneficiary Goppelmann (Oskar Sima) from the inheritance. Goppelmann recruits the local Studentenverbindung to discredit Susanne's establishment. The film is narrated in flashback by Jake Briggs (Eric Stoltz), a young aspiring playwright, culminating in the production of one of his plays off-Broadway by agent Carl Fisher (Tony Curtis). The play is a flop, at least in part because the lead parts are given to two actors, Dana Coles and Jason Brett (Kathleen Turner and Chris Noth), who are "not right" for the roles. Along the journey, Jake reviews his relationships with girlfriend Joanne (Mary-Louise Parker), best friend Chris (Ralph Macchio), his mother Shirley (Jill Clayburgh), and his mostly absentee father Roman (Paul Guilfoyle). The film ends with Jake and Joanne going their separate ways, mostly because of competing career goals, and Jake hoping to write more plays with greater success.

It is February 1929 in the city of Chicago, Joe (Tony Curtis) is an irresponsible jazz saxophone player, gambler and ladies' man; his friend Jerry (Jack Lemmon) is a sensible jazz double-bass player.
