David and Bathsheba is a 1951 historical Technicolor epic film about King David made by 20th Century Fox. It was directed by Henry King, produced by Darryl F. Zanuck, from a screenplay by Philip Dunne. The music score was by Alfred Newman and the cinematography by Leon Shamroy. King David was the second king of Israel and this film is based on the second Old Testament book of Samuel from the Bible. Gregory Peck stars as King David and the film follows King David's life as he adjusts to ruling as a King, and about his relationship with Uriah's wife Bathsheba (Susan Hayward). It was shot entirely in Nogales, Arizona. Goliath of Gath was portrayed by a Lithuanian wrestler named Walter Talun.
Synopsis
Un jeune berger de quinze ans tue le géant Goliath à coup de fronde. Plus tard, fort de sa célébrité, il devient le roi David et règne sur le peuple juif. Aujourd'hui, ses troupes assiègent la ville ammonite de Rabbath-Ammon. Marié à Mikhal, David s’éprend d’une femme d’une grande beauté aperçue prenant son bain, Bethsabée. Épouse délaissée d’un officier du roi, Urie le Hittite, Bethsabée devient la maîtresse de David. Lorsque celle-ci lui apprend qu’elle est enceinte et, son mari étant loin sur le champ de bataille, risque selon la loi d’être lapidée pour adultère, le roi décide pour la sauver d’envoyer Urie en première ligne au plus fort de la bataille. Urie meurt au combat et le roi épouse Bethsabée, après avoir répudié sa femme.Actors

On the last day of 1770, youngster Jonathan Blake (Freddie Bartholomew) overhears two sailors discussing something suspicious in his aunt's ale-house in a Norfolk fishing village. He persuades his more respectable best friend, Horatio Nelson (Douglas Scott), to sneak aboard the sailors' ship with him. They overhear a plot involving insurance fraud. When Jonathan decides to warn the insurers, Horatio cannot accompany him, because that same day he is invited to join the Royal Navy as a midshipman. Jonathan walks all the way to London to Lloyd's Coffee House, where the insurers conduct their business. Mr. Angerstein (Guy Standing), the head of one of the syndicates that make up Lloyd's of London, listens to him. Instead of a monetary reward, Jonathan asks to work at Lloyd's as a waiter. Angerstein teaches him that news, "honestly acquired and honestly shared," is the lifeblood of the insurance industry.

In August 1500, Andrea Orsini (Tyrone Power), an artistic minor nobleman who is equally skilled with the brush, the sword, words, and women, serves the Machiavellian Prince Cesare Borgia (Orson Welles) as a soldier.
