Lombardi, Ltd. (also sometimes styled Lombardi Limited in publicity materials) is a 1919 American feature silent film. It was adapted by June Mathis from a 1917 play of the same name by Frederick and Fanny Hatton, and directed by Jack Conway. The survival status of the film is classified as unknown, suggesting that it is likely a lost film. Warner Baxter had an early uncredited minor role in the film.

Synopsis

Tito Lombardi struggles Fifth Avenue couture house is spiraling into financial afloat. Through a Broadway investor he meets and falls for a showgirl who soon proves to be a gold-digger; his attractive but plain female assistant Norah loves him but has never made her feelings known. With money from a third-party inheritance and some ingenuity by Norah, the House of Lombardi is resurrected. Lombardi and Norah find true love together.

Wealthy Connie Allenbury (Myrna Loy) is falsely accused of breaking up a marriage and sues the New York Evening Star newspaper for $5,000,000 for libel. Warren Haggerty (Spencer Tracy), the managing editor, turns in desperation to former reporter and suave ladies' man Bill Chandler (William Powell) for help. His scheme is to maneuver Connie into being alone with him when his wife shows up, so the suit will have to be dropped. Chandler is not married, so Warren volunteers his long-suffering fiancée, Gladys Benton (Jean Harlow), over her loud protests.

Gold-digging chorus girl Mary (Carole Lombard) marries the head of a bootlegging syndicate, gangster "Shoots" Magiz (Nat Pendleton), but the illegal liquor business goes down the drain when Prohibition is repealed, and Shoots is knocked off by rival Daniel Dingle (Sam Hardy).
