My Mom's a Werewolf is a 1989 comedy/horror film directed by Michael Fischa, written by Mark Pirro, starring Susan Blakely and John Saxon.

Synopsis

Leslie Shaber est le prototype de la femme au foyer : une maison en banlieue, un mari alcoolique, des enfants qui grandissent sans elle. Elle attend l'évènement qui pourrait rompre la monotonie de sa vie. Alors qu'elle fait quelques emplettes dans une animalerie, elle accepte l'invitation de Harry Tropen. Elle ignore que le personnage, terriblement attirant ; est un loup-garou. Manipulée par le redoutable séducteur ; influencée par une diseuse de bonne aventure, elle va connaître la plus radicale des transformations, rejetant tout ce qui faisait sa vie jusque là. Ses enfants décident de la ramener dans le droit chemin.

The mother-reliant and weakling Ramon (Vhong Navarro) is forced to work as a landscape artist to pay off their family's debt. In his work field, he meets the lovable femme fatal boss Anna (Solenn Heussaff), who he falls in love head over heels with. Working hard as he tries to impress, Ramon unknowingly digs the graveyard of three victims of injustice whose souls begin to haunt and possess Ramon's body for vengeance; thus ruining his courtship and eventual relationship with Anna. Meanwhile, to prove the purest of his intentions, Ramon needs to stand up for Anna against her father Don Demetrio (Joey Marquez) who is a syndicate leader. But because of Ramon's cowardice, this comes as a major challenge, on top of the disturbance brought by the three ghosts headed by Anastacio "Chemerut" Balbitero, Jr.(John Lapus). As Ramon tries to solve the mystery behind these hauntings, he discovers that ghosts are trying to revenge against Don Demetrio. Ramon, in able to save himself from the possession was compelled to work with the ghosts who are seeking for justice. As Ramon struggles to fight for love and justice, he also learns the true meaning of courage which leads him into peacefully serving justice to the three ghosts and at the same time, save himself and Anna from the impending danger that Don Demetrio poses on them.

The movie is adapted from the old Hispanic tale "La Llorona" (The Crying Woman). It starts with Beto and his little sister Kika trick-or-treating in the village. The streets were deserted, dark and foggy. Kika was very loudly asking for candies, which made Beto very nervous. While waiting for Kika to come back from a house that was far down the street, Beto spotted an eerie figure going in her direction. In order to save his sister, he called out the ghost's name, "La Llorona"; she heard and went after him. Kika finds Beto missing, looks for him, and finds him just in time to see him taken by La Llorona.
