The script was written by Konopka and Mateusz Romaszkan, and the movie was a joint German-Polish production with the producers Heino Deckert and Anna Wydra. It was nominated for an Oscar in 2010 for "Best Documentary, Short Subjects". It has also won awards at the Kraków Film Festival and the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival.
The movie tells the story of the Berlin Wall but from point of view of a group of wild rabbits that inhabited the zone between the two walls separating West Berlin from the East Germany during the Cold War.
Synopsis
Le film raconte l'histoire de milliers de lapins vivant pendant 28 ans dans le no man's land du mur de Berlin. Au début les animaux s'habituent à la vie entre les murs, ensuite ils mènent une existence sans soucis dans ce qui peut paraître « le paradis des lapins » et finalement après la chute du mur, ils sont partiellement exterminés et doivent faire face à la nouvelle réalité.Comments

During the 1977 El Salvadoran presidential elections, amid public unrest and a guerrilla uprising, the military regime sends death squads to detain, torture and kill any people who speak out against its human rights record. The Vatican elevates conservative Oscar Arnulfo Romero (Raul Julia) to the position of Archbishop of San Salvador, hoping that he will accept the status quo. Although conservative, Romero is afraid of the government's increasing hostility. After the assassination of Father Rutilio Grande (Richard Jordan), an outspoken Jesuit advocate for the poor, Romero begins to take a stand against the government's policies, prompting the death squads to begin targeting priests.

The film involves an undercover investigation by LCA's special investigations unit of Martin Creek Kennel in Williford, Arkansas, an alleged "Class B" dealer. A member of the unit obtains a job at the kennel and documents deplorable conditions: dead dogs, dying dogs, starving dogs, dogs covered with wounds, dogs with missing ears. Partially as a result of the documentation, the kennel was permanently shut down by federal authorities.

Interviewing leaders of animal organizations and volunteers who went to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, it is revealed that at the beginning, everyone had different ideas about how things should be done, but no one was willing to take charge because the problem was bigger than anyone could have imagined.
