Synopsis
Dans le sixième épisode « Méfiez-vous de ces deux là », un voleur et sa complice Maria (Monica Vitti), dérobent le collier d’une princesse. Angelo (Michele Placido), son garde du corps profite de l’inconsistance des voleurs pour reprendre à son tour possession des biens et s’enfuir. Maria, exploite alors à fond ses atouts féminins pour reprendre la parure. Elle se déguise en nonne puis, déterminée à récupérer le collier, elle saute dans un train dans lequel elle retrouve Angelo.Actors

Following the death of his wife, a father of three sons (aged 18, 14 and 6) hires an attractive young housekeeper named Angela (Laura Antonelli), and soon becomes engaged to her. Sen. Gianni Puppis (Lando Buzzanca) arrives at Rome's airport to greet the female president of the Republic of Urania. Puppis, a hot contender for the next Italian Chief of State, is captured on unedited and unaired news-film furtively groping the bottom of the esteemed lady visitor as she greets the Italian press. No one notices the incident, and the victim is unsure who was responsible due to the crowd gathered around her. The TV film editor (Janos Bartha) studies the film with a colleague and remarks, "but he's queer!" Still photos of the incident fall into the hands of a highly unorthodox priest called Father Lucian (Renzo Palmer), an old college friend of Puppis. He arranges a meeting with the bemused politician in a confessional booth and then demands blackmail money for the pictures. Puppis is furious, but mystified, for he cannot remember anything about the incident. He leave the confessional booth refusing to pay. That night, Puppis has a strange dream which a naked young woman (Eva Czamerys) beckons him, superimposed over the circular plaza of St. Peter's Basilica and the Vatican.

Ignazio La Brocca, la soixantaine, vit dans une villa luxueuse avec Angela, son ancienne bonne à tout faire, devenue sa femme, Le jeune architecte Lance Bruni vient leur rendre visite accompagné de son fils Jimmy âgé de quinze ans. Il a été alerté par la Direction des Beaux-Arts qu’au cours des travaux de construction du métro, tout près d’ici, on aurait trouvé la fosse où Ruggero d'Altavilla, premier comte de Sicile (1062) aurait muré vivante la princesse Aisha, coupable de n’avoir pas cédé à ses avances. Le jeune Jimmy est immédiatement troublé par Angela qui dort désormais séparée de son mari. Celle-ci trouve une rose déposée dans sa poche puis un mot doux tout à fait explicite. Angela soupçonne d’abord Lance l'architecte, puis devine que l'auteur des lettres est le jeune garçon qui lui fait comprendre qu’il est capable de blesser et même tuer son mari pour changer sa vie. Les fouilles se poursuivent, ainsi que les malentendus, jusqu'à ce qu’Ignazio, convaincu par Jimmy de se rendre de nuit dans la fosse pour y découvrir un trésor est coincé par un éboulement provoqué par le garçon diabolique. Pendant ce temps, Angela a cédé à l'architecte. Ignazio est finalement sorti de ce mauvais pas à la suite des remords de Jimmy. Mais l'arrivée des invités, tous ces événements qui s’enchaînent, l’accident d'Ignazio causés par le jeune secrétaire-amant ont secoué la routine ennuyeuse du couple d'âge mûr, qui, en se séparant de ses hôtes, semble avoir retrouvé une nouvelle harmonie.
