Middle school student Roy A. Eberhardt (Logan Lerman) has just moved to Florida from Montana. He is mercilessly teased and bullied by Dana Matherson until he accidentally breaks Dana's nose while on the school bus. Because of this, Roy is suspended from riding the school bus for 3 days and must write Dana an apology letter. Roy slowly becomes friends with Beatrice "The Bear" Leep (Brie Larson), and her stepbrother, "Mullet Fingers" (Cody Linley). Meanwhile, someone is responsible for vandalism on a local construction site where a "Mother Paula's Pancake House" restaurant, owned by corrupt CEO Chuck Muckle, is about to be built. In order to catch the vandals and prevent further vandalism, Officer David Delinko (Luke Wilson) has parked his police cruiser on the building site. Delinko falls asleep and an unknown vandal vandalizes the car by spray painting its windows with black spray paint. The next day at breakfast, Roy and his parents read about the spray painted police car. The police chief then gives Delinko a small police scooter to replace the vandalized cruiser.

The movie starts off with the egg Toto who wants to become a chick but he was taken away from his mother before he could hatch. Then he was put for sale in a supermarket where Toto was bought. Toto meets Willy and a bunch of other eggs who want to escape. After Willy and the Leader devised a plan to escape, they chose Toto to distract the cat while they escape. Willy would serve as his aid when Toto escaped the cat, but sadly they get left behind by the others and were left trapped in the house, forced to look for a way to get to a farm so Toto can hatch.

Hubie, a shy, gullible but kindhearted penguin, is in love with the beautiful and kind Marina, but lacks self-confidence leading him to be bullied by the much more impressive, but vain and cruel Drake, who also wants Marina, but clearly for lust. One night, Hubie and Marina manage to confirm how they feel for each other, but Hubie cannot quite find a perfect pebble to propose to Marina with. He wishes on a star to make his dream come true and he receives an emerald from the sky. Ecstatic, Hubie rushes to find Marina but is stopped by Drake, who demands Hubie to give him the pebble. Hubie refuses, so Drake throws him into the water. Hubie narrowly escapes from a leopard seal and climbs on to a piece of ice where he is swept away from Antarctica.

As the film begins, Jonathan Livingston Seagull is soaring through the sky hoping to travel at a speed more than 60 miles per hour. Eventually, with luck he is able to break that barrier, but when Jonathan returns to his own flock he is greeted with anything but applause. The Elders of the flock shame Jonathan for doing things the other seagulls never dare to do. Jonathan pleads to stay and claims that he wants to share his newfound discovery with everybody, but the Elders dismiss him as an outcast, and he is banished from the flock. Jonathan goes off on his own, believing that all hope is lost. However, he is soon greeted by mysterious seagulls from other lands who assure him that his talent is a unique one, and with them Jonathan is trained to become independent and proud of his beliefs. Eventually, Jonathan himself ends up becoming a mentor for other seagulls who are suffering the same fates in their own flocks as he once did.

After fighting off the attack of Craven's coachman, who apparently acted under the influence of Scarabus, they set out to the castle, joined by Craven's daughter Estelle and Bedlo's son Rexford (Jack Nicholson).

À la suite d'une déception amoureuse, Félicité propose ses services à M Aubain, une veuve avec deux jeunes enfants. Embauchée pour s'occuper du ménage, nourrir, habiller et surveiller le petit garçon et la petite fille, elle se prend d'une grande affection pour eux. Félicité s'occupe également de son jeune neveu tous les dimanches, elle l'affectionne et celui-ci le lui rend bien et a un perroquet rouge prénommé Loulou. Mais M Aubain est très froide et hautaine et malgré l'affection que sa fille, Clémence, porte à Félicité (celle-ci remplace en effet sa mère maladroite et qui ne sait pas montrer d'émotion), M Aubain ne cache pas son mépris pour le « cœur simple » qu'est Félicité. M Aubain a ensuite une liaison qui n'aboutit pas avec son professeur de musique et elle se rend compte qu'elle est seule. Pendant ce temps, les enfants grandissent. Le neveu de Félicité s'engage dans la marine et meurt peu de temps après du typhus laissant sa tante terrassée. Cette mort sera vite suivie par celle, prématurée, de Clémence. Trop tard, M Aubain réalise l'ampleur de son amour pour sa fille, et culpabilise de ne pas l'avoir emmenée se soigner dans le sud où le climat lui aurait été bénéfique. Elle accorde finalement à Félicité, terrassée par ces deux morts consécutives, l'honneur d'être la seule à pouvoir veiller sa fille. M Aubain elle-même ne se remettra jamais de cette mort, se droguant au Laudanum. Alors qu'elle manque de s'évanouir au pied de la tombe de sa fille, Félicité la prend dans ses bras et toutes deux s'embrassent, dans un grand déchirement. Cette servante un peu simplette mais au grand cœur réussit finalement à gagner l'amitié de M Aubain et à faire fondre sa dureté. C'est dans cette amitié que les deux femmes vieillissent, ensemble, dans la simplicité et l'humilité. Malheureusement, M Aubaine meurt à son tour et le perroquet de Félicité aussi. La servante le fait donc empailler avant de sombrer dans la folie et mourir à son tour, seule.

Following the death of his wife, Arthur Pratt (Philip Baker Hall) is on the verge of taking his own life. However, just after he had finished burying his wife’s ashes at the park, a duckling crosses his path. Noticing that the duckling is all alone, Arthur decides to help it find its flock. Unfortunately, they end up finding the flock as roadkill. As a result, Arthur then chooses to take the surviving duckling back to his apartment, where he bathes and feeds it. No longer on the verge, Arthur is committed to raise and take care of the duckling, which he names “Joe.”
