Mike Locken (James Caan) and George Hansen (Robert Duvall) are best friends and private contractors for a private intelligence agency, Communications Integrity or ComTeg, which handles covert assignments for the CIA. At the beginning of the film, Locken and Hansen are helping an East European defector, Vorodny (Helmut Dantine) escape. After delivering the defector to other ComTeg operatives, Locken and Hansen throw a wild party to relax. The next day, they go to a ComTeg safehouse to relieve other agents who have been guarding Vorodny, the defector they previously helped escape.

Skip Robinson is a construction worker who lives with his family in Los Angeles, California. Queen Victoria sends Dick Deadeye (Victor Spinetti), a sailor, to recover the "Ultimate Secret" from two thieves, the Sorcerer (Peter Reeves) and his reptilian henchman, the Shameleon. They are trying to sell it to the Pirate King (George Cooper, sung Ian Samwell). At a military parade ("Entrance of the Peers"), Dick sees the Sorcerer speaking with the Pirate King. The title character is an innocent housekeeper whose life is ruined by an invasive tabloid reporter and a police investigation when the man with whom she has just fallen in love turns out to be a radical bank robber. As the film begins, Emmanuelle is travelling by ship to join her husband, Jean, in Hong Kong. To her annoyance there are no cabins available and she has to sleep in an all-female dorm. La suite des aventures du trio de la septième compagnie lors de la Débâcle de juin 1940 : Tassin, Chaudard et Pithivier échappent aux Allemands et sont recueillis en caleçon par la mère Crouzy qui leur fournit des uniformes d'officiers français abandonnés par leurs détenteurs pendant la débâcle. Nos trois héros se font arrêter à nouveau et sont conduits dans un château où une grande partie de l'état-major français est détenue. Les trois bidasses, devenus officiers malgré eux, sont sur le point de faire évader tous ces officiers quand, malencontreusement, alors qu'ils referment la porte derrière eux à la sortie des souterrains, le sol de la forêt s'écroule avec des arbres et bloque la sortie, obligeant les officiers à rebrousser chemin dans les galeries communicant avec le château. Quant aux trois soldats, ils se retrouvent enfin libres. S'ensuit une petite série d'évasions à chaque fois sous l'œil médusé de leur supérieur le capitaine Dumont (Pierre Tornade) qui ne comprend pas comment font ces trois tocards pour s'évader.
