Assing Aleong (born December 19, 1934) is an American character actor and singer who has also been active in songwriting and musical production. His first important role was in the 1957 movie, No Down Payment, which starred Joanne Woodward and Jeffrey Hunter. He is probably best known for portraying Senator Hidoshi during the first season of Babylon 5, as well as portraying Mr. Chiang, the aide to Nathan Bates in the weekly series of V: The Series. He also portrayed the character of Colonel Mitamura in Farewell to the King. He owned the Gingham Dog fast food restaurant in Hollywood, California, circa 1965.
He has a listing in the current "Joel Whitburn's Top Pop Singles 1955-2008" with "Trade Winds, Trade Winds" appearing in November 1961. The song peaked at #101 in Billboard Magazine on the "Bubbling Under the Hot 100" charts, and it remained on the chart for four weeks. According to an interview with Aki on YouTube ("Part 1 of Twyman Creative Insider Interview with Aki Aleong") the song was Number 1 in Los Angeles in 1961. While that is not exactly accurate, "Trade Winds, Trade Winds" did reach Number 10 on KDAY and Number 11 on KRLA, two L.A. Top 40 stations.
He is a member of the Media Action Network for Asian Americans (MANAA) and is the executive director for Asians in Media.
Recently, he starred as Agent X in the WongFu Productions YouTube short starring Ryan Higa, Agents of Secret Stuff.

The film begins with a nightmare of Bruce Lee's father (Ric Young), who sees a terrifying phantom (Sven-Ole Thorsen) in black samurai armor that haunts the young Bruce Lee (Sam Hau). Bruce is shown as a child receiving instruction in traditional Chinese martial arts in a montage that passes quickly through his teenage years in Hong Kong. As a young adult, Bruce (Jason Scott Lee) becomes involved in a fight with British sailors (who are harassing a young Chinese woman) and this results in him having to leave Hong Kong because of the incident. His father suggests that Bruce go to the US, since he was actually born in San Francisco when his father was on a tour there and has a US birth certificate. His father asks Bruce to become a success, so big a success that his name will be famous even back in Hong Kong.

George Kuffs (Slater) is an irresponsible 21-year-old high school dropout from San Francisco who walks out on his pregnant girlfriend Maya Carlton (Jovovich). Having lost his last job and with no prospects he visits his brother Brad (Bruce Boxleitner), who serves as an officer in the San Francisco Patrol Special Police, a civilian auxiliary police unit that sees potential officers assign themselves specific areas and work on a for-hire basis. Brad is not willing to loan George any money, though, and suggests George join him as a Patrol Special and work under him. Before George can decide whether to accept the offer, a man named Kane (Leon Rippy) shoots Brad in a church.
