Synopsis
Cat (Donnie Yen) is an aimless killer, no matter if its raining or sunny, he would always wear dark glasses and always calls to the radio to talk. Every night, he looks out the window to see his angel living across him, who dances at her room during nighttime. Policewoman Carrie (Annie Wu) also listens to the radio every night and her goal is to arrest a brutal killer. Cat thinks Carrie is his rival Wesley's (Jimmy Wong) girlfriend and abducts her. Going through a theater with a hail of bullets, Cat is surprised to discover that Carrie is the policewoman who has been on his trails. On the other hand, Cat and Wesley were originally FBI officers, however, Wesley's unexpectedly betrayed Cat, which led the latter to the dark world.Actors

Tong Shan (Donnie Yen) is a doctor who returns from Britain to Shanghai after graduating from medical school. Tong opens a clinic in a poor village in Shanghai to help sick people who cannot afford medical care. However, the Axe Gang, led by Yue Lo-chat, arrives and plans to tear apart the village and build a casino there. Tong and his assistant, Bond (Ruco Chan), protect the village and drive the gang away, angering Yue. One day, Tong meets Yue's younger sister, Yue Siu-sin (Athena Chu), who is mute due to an illness. Tong cures Siu-sin and their relationship grows closer, which angers Yue even more since he is against western medicine. Later, some kids are kidnapped and found dead without internal organs. Tong investigates and discovers that his mentor, Lui Mung, and Yue are the masterminds behind this. Lui and Yue frames Tong and Yue starts a persecution on Tong.

The plot centers on a masked martial artist known as "Iron Monkey". "Iron Monkey" is actually the alter ego of a traditional Chinese medicine physician called Yang Tianchun. In the day, Yang runs his clinic and provides free medical treatment for the poor, which he subsidises by charging his rich patients. At night, he dresses in black and travels around town to rob the rich and help the poor. Once, he breaks into the governor's residence and makes off with a hoard of gold. The guards and four Shaolin monks are unable to stop him. The governor orders the chief constable, Fox, to hunt down Iron Monkey and to arrest anyone who is linked to monkeys in any way. Fox appears to be a bungler who is not aware that Iron Monkey is actually the physician who is treating his injured men who fought with Iron Monkey the previous night.

In 1917 Republican China, Liu Jinxi and his wife Yu are an ordinary couple with two sons, Fangzheng and Xiaotian, living together in Liu Village, Yunnan. One day, two bandits enter the village and attempt to rob the general store. Liu happens to be in the shop, and he fights and kills the robbers when they turn violent.
