Synopsis
A former French soldier lives in solitude in Montreal. Since returning from Afghanistan with a leg injury, this soldier has had trouble coming to grips with reality and overcoming his loneliness. The trauma caused by his memories of the conflict leads him towards an unhealthy relationship with women. One day, his behavior brings him into contact with a woman and makes him questions his motives.Actors

Benoit Gando (Laurent Lucas) is a French insurance agent visiting a picturesque Northern Ontario town for a conference. He has a steady marriage with a nuclear engineer and an eleven-year-old daughter. Benoit is leaving a convenience store has twenty-seven-year-old rookie cop Kate Logan mistakes him for a suspected rapist. She explains the misunderstanding and lets him go, although it is possible she made up the story to get herself introduced to him, but the question arises how did she know who he was beforehand. Later that evening she shows up at his motel and offers him a drink in order to make up for the encounter. He accepts and due to her "innocent" flirtations they end up sleeping together.

La vie de Marc bascule lorsqu'Aurélie, l'amie de sa fille, est tuée par une voiture en sortant de chez eux. Jane, an operative for the private intelligence firm Hiller Brood, is assigned by her boss Sharon to infiltrate The East, an underground activist, anarchist and ecologist organization that has launched several attacks against corporations in an attempt to expose their corruption. Under the watchful eyes of Father Silvano Bentivoglio (Carmen Argenziano) and Dr. Vittoria Vetra (Ayelet Zurer), the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) initiates the Large Hadron Collider and creates three vials of antimatter particles larger than any that have ever been produced before. Almost immediately, Father Silvano is killed and one of the vials of antimatter goes missing. At the same time, the Roman Catholic Church is mourning the sudden death of Pope Pius XVI in Rome and prepares for the papal conclave to elect the next Pope. The Camerlengo Patrick McKenna (Ewan McGregor) assumes temporary control of the Vatican. The Illuminati kidnap four of the 'preferiti' (the favourite cardinals to be elected pope) before the conclave enters seclusion and threaten to kill one candidate every hour and destroy all of Vatican City at midnight, using the missing vial of antimatter as a bomb. The Vatican summons symbologist Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks) from Harvard University and Vittoria from CERN to help them save the four preferiti and locate the vial.
