Gabriele Muccino ([ɡabriˈɛle mutˈtʃino]; born 20 May 1967) is an Italian film director. He is the elder brother of actor Silvio Muccino, who often appears in his brother's films.
Ensuite, il commence à travailler pour la RAI en réalisant trois courts métrages et quelques épisodes du soap opera Un posto al sole. En 1996, il participe au film collectif Intolerance et en 1998, il débute avec le long métrage avec Ecco fatto qui est nommé au Festival du film de Turin. Après quelques spots pour la télévision arrive le deuxième long métrage, Come te nessuno mai en 1999, dans lequel il fait débuter comme acteur son petit frère Silvio. Le film sera sélectionné à la Mostra de Venise.
En 2001, Gabriele Muccino retrouve le succès avec Juste un baiser (L'ultimo bacio), qui gagne cinq David di Donatello parmi lesquels le Prix au meilleur réalisateur et le Prix du public au Sundance Film Festival. Le magazine Entertainment Weekly nomme le film parmi les dix meilleur titres de l'année.
Après sa troisième œuvre Souviens-toi de moi (Ricordati di me), Muccino débarque aux États-Unis où il réalise deux films avec Will Smith acteur principal et producteur, À la recherche du bonheur (The Pursuit of Happyness) (2006) et Sept vies (Seven Pounds) (2008). L'acteur américain avait choisi personnellement Muccino après avoir vu Juste un baiser (L'ultimo bacio).

Biography
Fils de Luigi Muccino, dirigeant RAI, et Antonella Cappuccio, peintre affirmée, Gabriele Muccino naît et grandit à Rome, où il s'inscrit à la faculté de lettres et philosophie à l'Université La Sapienza de Rome avant de se consacrer au cinéma comme assistant volontaire pour Pupi Avati et Marco Risi. En 1991, il est admis au Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia où il fréquente les cours de scénario.Ensuite, il commence à travailler pour la RAI en réalisant trois courts métrages et quelques épisodes du soap opera Un posto al sole. Marco est un adolescent italien dont la vie ressemble à celles des autres adolescents de son âge : il passe son temps avec ses amis à discuter des filles et à consommer de la drogue. Parmi ses amis, un certain Vulcano qui rêve d'être volcanologue et de partir vivre aux États-Unis. Il ne semble pourtant pas à l'aise dans son groupe d'amis et s'interroge sur la futilité de ces discussions. Marco passe finalement son baccalauréat et s'interroge sur son avenir et les études qu'il souhaite suivre. La présentation du personnage de Marco est alors brutalement interrompue par un accident de scooter qui le blesse et l'empêche de quitter Rome pendant les vacances d'été. Marco reçoit finalement un chèque de 3 000 € de l'assurance en réparation de son accident de scooter. Il téléphone à son ami Vulcano, alors installé à Palo Alto aux États-Unis, qui lui propose de venir visiter les États-Unis et lui indique qu'il pourrait être hébergé gratuitement chez deux de ses amis qui habitent à San Francisco.

The movie is a tale about a young boy aroused by the sexual awakenings and the political views of the Italian youth. It's set around a group of friends. Silvio (the main character), Ponzi (his best friend) and a group of boys and girls that go to the same school. The school everybody goes to is threatened of being privatized. So the students are gathered to decide whether to occupy the school or take a different action. The most radical kids end up setting the tone of the oncoming manifestation and so the school is going to be occupied. In the night the friends gather, girls in one place and boys on the other. They smoke and share experiences. Martino tells the boys that he's had sex with his girlfriend, and that he can last about ten minutes. On the other hand, as the girls chat, his girlfriend tells her friends that it was all very fast.
