Biography

Raymond Chow est l'un des producteurs les plus importants et les plus influents de l'histoire du cinéma asiatique, notamment pour avoir lancé le cinéma d'art martial et le cinéma hongkongais sur la scène internationale. Roger Leung (Andy Lau), an unmarried middle aged Hong Kong film producer lives with Chung Chun-to (Deanie Ip), a maidservant who has worked for his family for decades. Returning home after a business trip, Roger discovers To on the floor and calls for an ambulance. At the hospital, Roger discovers that To has had a stroke but rather than ask for rehabilitation, To decides she wants to retire and asks to be put in a nursing home. While looking for a nursing home Roger discovers one nearby that is owned by his friend. He installs To there and visits her in between his production jobs. After a recent amount of challenges, Billy Lo (Bruce Lee) and his friend Chin Ku (Huong Cheng Li) begin to suspect that someone wants them dead. Billy later visits his younger brother Bobby (Tong Lung), who is studying with Billy's former teacher, and leaves him a book on Jeet Kune Do. Chin is soon killed, and Billy goes to Japan to find his stepdaughter, May. May tells him that Chin had visited just before his death, and left a film for her. They are suddenly attacked, but Billy manages to escape with the film.

The story begins in early Republican China.
