Sebastian Roché (born 4 August 1964) is a French-Scottish actor and writer known for his roles as Kurt Mendel on Odyssey 5 (2002–03), Jerry Jacks on the soap opera General Hospital (2007–13), Thomas Jerome Newton on Fringe (2009–10), Balthazar on Supernatural (2010–11), and Mikael on The Vampire Diaries and The Originals (2011–15).
On film, he has appeared in The Last of the Mohicans (1992), The Peacemaker (1997), 15 Minutes (2001), Sorry, Haters (2005), The Namesake (2006), New York City Serenade (2007), Beowulf (2007), Happy Tears (2009), Safe House (2012), Wer (2013), and A Walk Among the Tombstones (2014). In addition to his film and television work, Roché has starred in the Broadway stage productions of Salome (1992) and The Green Bird (2000).

Biography

Roché moved to the United States in 1992. He met American actress Vera Farmiga while co-starring together on the short-lived television series Roar. They eloped to the Bahamas after the series ended in 1997. The couple resided on a 117 acre estate in Upstate New York. Roché and Farmiga separated in 2004, and were divorced in 2005 following eight years of marriage. Through his marriage to Farmiga, he was the brother-in-law of actress Taissa Farmiga.

In 2007, Roché purchased a 3-bedroom house in Venice, Los Angeles for $1.52 million. On 31 May 2014, he married Australian actress Alicia Hannah in a private ceremony at the Chateau Les Bouysses in Mercuès, France.

Young journalist Tintin and his dog Snowy are browsing in an outdoor market in Brussels, Belgium. Tintin buys a miniature model of a ship, the Unicorn, but is then accosted by Barnaby and Ivan Ivanovitch Sakharine, who both unsuccessfully try to buy the model from Tintin. Tintin takes the ship home, but it is accidentally broken, resulting in a parchment scroll slipping out of the model and rolling under a piece of furniture. Meanwhile, detectives Thomson and Thompson are on the trail of a pickpocket, Aristides Silk. Tintin, later finds that the Unicorn has been stolen. He then visits Sakharine in Marlinspike Hall and accuses him of the theft when he sees a miniature model of the Unicorn, but when he notices that Sakharine's model is not broken, he realizes that there are two Unicorn models. Once Tintin returns home, Snowy shows him the scroll. Moments later, Barnaby arrives at Tintin's residence, but is fatally shot and killed. After reading an old message written on it, Tintin puts the scroll in his wallet, but it is stolen by Silk the next morning.

Jan Paul Beahm (Shane West) grows up in Los Angeles through a troubled childhood; he does not know his biological father, his mother is an alcoholic, and his older brother dies from a heroin overdose. The film begins with Emil Slovak (Karel Roden) and Oleg Razgul (Oleg Taktarov) arriving in America. They were former criminals and after getting out of prison have come to the U.S. to claim their part of a bank heist in Russia (or somewhere in Czech Republic). Within minutes of arriving, Oleg steals a video camera. They go to the run down apartment of their old partner and demand their share. He doesn't have it so Emil stabs him and his wife to death, as Oleg tapes it with the camera. The couple's friend, Czech immigrant Daphne Handlova (Vera Farmiga), covertly witnesses the murders from the bathroom, but she escapes before they can get her too. To hide the crime, Emil burns down the apartment.
