The film stars Vikram, Suriya, Laila and Sangeetha in the lead and Simran making a pivotal cameo as herself. Produced by V. A. Durai, the film is cinematographed by Balasubramaniem, lyrics are by Vaali, Pazhani Barathi and Na. Muthukumar, dance has been choreographed by Brinda, editing by Suresh Ars, fights by Stunt Siva and art direction by A. C. Pillai. The film's score and soundtrack are composed by Ilayaraaja. The film plot is based on Jayakanthan's Nandhavanathil Oru Andi, the story of an undertaker. Upon release, the film met with critical acclaim and Vikram won the National Film Award for Best Actor for his role as Chithan.This movie declared as a "Super hit"at box office and it grossed around 33 crore.
Owing to the success, the film was dubbed into Telugu and released as Sivaputrudu (The son of Siva) on 2 April 2004. The film was also remade in Kannada as Anatharu (2007) with Upendra and Darshan playing the roles of Vikram and Suriya respectively.
Synopsis
Chitans life starts in a graveyard.An anonymous woman dies while giving birth to him and he is found and raised by the caretaker of the graveyard.He grows up among corpses with minimal human contact is perhaps more feral than autistic. He growls like a wolf, runs like an gorilla has the unkempt appearance of an orangutan but he seems to understand loyalty and is despite his circumstance, a social animal.He ventures into a town in search of food and gets into trouble as he doesn't understand the concept of money. He is rescued by Gomathy, a petty Ganja seller.She sees his ability to be loyal and enrolls him into the service of her employer, a large scale ganja producer. Chitan is caught during a drug raid and sent to jail.Actors

For astrological reasons, a father leaves his son Rudran (Arya) in Kasi. Fourteen years later, repenting his act he goes with his daughter in search of him. He finds him there but is shocked to learn that he has become an Aghori, a cannibalistic character who gives moksha and prevents the soul from getting rebirth. Nevertheless he brings him back to Tamil Nadu. The story takes a turn here and introduces us to the world of physically and mentally challenged beggars. A world controlled by the cruel Thandavan (Rajendran). Hamsavalli (Pooja Umashankar) a blind girl is forcefully separated from her troupe and made to join the beggars. Soon she becomes another victim of Thandavan's cruelty. Meanwhile, Rudran leaves his house to find his place on a small cave, and soon meets Hamsavalli, who tries her best to convince him to return home, but fails. Thandavan then takes a deal with a Malayali man of the same profession to sell some of the beggars.The Malayali guy forcefully takes the beggars away,although they want to stay with the rest of the beggars. He returns again,but this time to force Hamsavalli to marry an ugly, deformed man for 10-lakhs worth of money. Thandavan orders his men to bring Hamsavalli but they take Hamsavalli to Rudran to help her. Rudran kills the Malayali guy and is also arrested by the local Police. This agitates Thandavan and he orders the Police man to release Rudran so that he can kill him. In the mean time Thandavan also finds Hamsavalli and on one incident, Hamsavalli refuses to marry the deformative,which angers him and he runs away without marrying her. This angers Thandavan, who deeply wounds her. Rudran is shown wounded in his forehead with blood oozing out. Flashback opens where Thandavan appears face to face with Rudran. In the fight between the two, Rudran kills Thandavan. Rudran's wound in the forehead is caused due to the fight. She later goes crying to Rudran to somehow free from this curse and also prevent her from rebirth. The aghori then kills her and grants her moksha. In the final scene Rudran returns to Kasi.

Krishna (Vikram) is intellectually disabled and has the mental ability of a six-year old. He lives a peaceful life in the hill station of Ooty. He is cared for by Victor (Krishna Kumar), the owner of a chocolate factory where Krishna works. One day he excitedly announces to the village that he will become a father. Kasi is a tale about the deception of appearances. Kasi(Vikram) is a blind poet and singer who supports his family by his songs. Unfortunately, something happens that shows that the 'God-like' Raghupathi and Mr Dinesh are not what they seem. Blissfully unaware of the sadness of those around him, Kasi looks forward to his operation.

Deux ans après avoir affronté les humains et Koba, César et les singes vivent reculés dans une forêt. Leur avant-poste est alors attaqué par une unité militaire pratiquement annihilée dans l'assaut et qui subit une défaite totale, rapportée par radio à leur commandant le colonel McCullough. Selon les dires d'un survivant fait prisonnier et présenté à César, cet homme sanguinaire cherche à tout prix à retrouver César pour installer la domination des hommes sur les primates : bien que ça ne fasse pas l'unanimité, César choisit d'épargner les soldats survivants et de les lui renvoyer avec un message de laisser tomber afin de clarifier les circonstances ayant amené cette situation et prévenir une montée vaine des conflits. Plus tard alors qu'ils s'occupent de leurs morts et blessés, César vient accueillir son fils aîné Yeux-Bleus et Rocket, qui reviennent d'une expédition prolongée et ont apparemment enfin trouvé la terre promise des singes, à des mois de marche de là. Le soir même, après des discussions houleuses sur la suite des événements et la crainte exprimée par Winter, un gorille albinos, la décision est prise de s'y rendre. Mais après l'échec de ses soldats, le colonel McCullough se déplace en personne avec un commando dans le refuge de César afin de le tuer. Il tue le fils aîné de César par méprise ainsi que sa compagne, Cornelia, épargnant sans le savoir leur enfant cadet, Cornelius qui s'était caché. César qui arrive juste avant son départ et constate leur mort, tente de se venger pour son acte mais échoue de peu. Tandis que la colonie a débuté son trajet vers leur futur foyer, César confie alors Cornelius à Lake, la compagne de feu son fils aîné, puis quitte les siens à leur grande surprise pour se lancer seul à la poursuite de McCullough, assoiffé de vengeance. Il est toutefois vite rattrapé et épaulé par ses plus proches amis l’orang-outan Maurice, le chimpanzé Rocket (dont le fils Ash, meilleur ami de Yeux-Bleus, fut également tué, par Koba en son temps) et le gorille Luca.
