Jennifer Audrey Coolidge (/ˈkuːlɪdʒ/; born August 28, 1961) is an American actress and comedian, known for playing "Stifler's mom", a role prominent in the American Pie films; Paulette, the manicurist in Legally Blonde (2001) and its sequel (2003); Hilary Duff's character's evil stepmother Fiona in A Cinderella Story (2004); and as the voice of Aunt Fanny in the animated feature Robots (2005). She is also a regular actor in Christopher Guest's mockumentary films. Coolidge is an alumna of The Groundlings, an improv and sketch comedy troupe based in Los Angeles. She currently stars in the CBS sitcom 2 Broke Girls as Sophie, Max and Caroline's Polish upstairs neighbor who owns a cleaning business.

Originaire de Boston, Jennifer Coolidge est née le 28 août 1961. Elle débute à New York au sein du Gotham City Improv Group, puis rallie les Groundings de Los Angeles, où elle continue de développer ses talents d’improvisatrice.

Au cinéma, c’est la comédie qui l’emploie généralement, même si elle a commencé en 1995 avec un film de science-fiction, Not of This Earth, de Terence H. Winkless . En 1997, elle participe à Plump Fiction , parodie du film de Quentin Tarantino par Bob Koherr. On la découvre dans le rôle de la mère de famille ultra-sexy qui draguait le tout jeune Eddie Kaye Thomas dans American Pie. Elle compte parmi ses autres comédies Une nuit au Roxbury de John Fortenberry et Le Plus Fou des deux de Jonathan Lynn, où elle a pour partenaires Jeff Daniels et Michael Richards. En 2004, elle apparaît au côté de Jim Carrey dans Les Désastreuses Aventures des orphelins Baudelaire.
