Synopsis
En 1975, le boxeur poids lourd Chuck Wepner affronte sur le ring le champion de la même catégorie, Mohamed Ali. Alors que tout le monde pense qu'il va se ridiculiser, Chuck tient quasiment les 15 rounds. Il gagne le respect du public et devient une célébrité. D'autant plus que son histoire a inspiré un jeune acteur alors inconnu, Sylvester Stallone, qui écrit alors le scénario d'un futur film à succès, Rocky. Chuck, le fêtard, va cependant tomber dans une spirale qui l'éloigne de sa femme Phyl et de sa fille Kimberley.Actors

Erik Kernan Jr. (Hartnett) is a young fledgling journalist employed by The Denver Times. The movie opens with a pregnant Mary Kom (Priyanka Chopra), heading towards the hospital with her husband Onler Kom (Darshan Kumaar). Onler is mistaken for an insurgent and beaten when he tries to find a vehicle despite a curfew. The film then shifts to a flashback with Mangte Chungeijang Kom, finding boxing gloves in the remains of an air crash in 1991, which prompted her interest in boxing despite her father's disapproval. During an early fight, she chases a boy and ends up in a boxing gym. The coach of the gym, Narjit Singh (Sunil Thapa) is the coach of the Asian Champion Dingko Singh, and Kom tells him about her boxing aspirations. He asks her to visit the gym for next thirty days and says that he will only teach her if she is deserving enough. She starts visiting the gym, telling her mother but not her father. Days pass but her father does not enquire about her. Due to Kom's dedication and stubbornness, Coach Singh starts training her, suggesting she change her name to Mary Kom.

Victor "Young" Perez tells the astonishing, harrowing and poignant story of a Tunisian Jewish boxer, who became the World Flyweight Champion in 1931 and 1932. Perez started training as a boxer at age 14 along with his older brother Benjamin "Kid" Perez Perez and rose to great fame thanks to the help and guidance of Leon Bellier. Moreover he had a love affair with French-Italian actress Mireille Balin. The 5'1", 110-pound Perez won the International Boxing Union's version of the World Flyweight crown by a 2nd-round knockout of US-American champion Frankie Genaro, subsequently becoming the youngest world champion in boxing history! Perez got arrested in Paris on September 21, 1943 and was detained in the Drancy internment camp France, before being transported to Auschwitz where he was assigned to the Monowitz to serve as a slave laborer. Victor Perez arrived at Auschwitz on October 10, 1943, as part of "Transport 60" a group of 1,000. He was held in AuschwitzIII/Monowitz. Whilst there he was forced to fight in boxing matches for the amusement of the SS command. By 1945 Victor had survived 140 bouts in 15 months. Perez was one of the prisoners on the death march that left the camp on January 18, 1945.

Set between 1910 and 1915, the story follows Jack Jefferson (James Earl Jones; patterned after real-life boxer Jack Johnson) going on a hot streak of victories in the boxing ring as he defeats every white boxer around. Soon the press and racists announce the search for a "great white hope", a boxer who will defeat Jefferson for the heavyweight title. Meanwhile, Jefferson prepares for a few more matches, but he lets his guard down by courting the beautiful (and very white) Eleanor Bachman (Jane Alexander), and when everyone, including Jack's black "wife", discover this, the tensions grow to fever pitch. Jack's close black friends become scared over his pushing the envelope of success and the white authorities conspire to frame him with unlawful sexual relations with Eleanor and thereby take away his title. It leads to jealousy, a run from the law, and finally, disaster.
