Kate del Castillo Negrete Trillo is a Mexican actress.

Biography

Del Castillo was born in Mexico City, Mexico. She is the daughter of Kate Trillo and Eric del Castillo, a legend of the Mexican cinema's golden era and a soap opera actor himself. Del Castillo also has two other siblings; a sister Verónica, and a half-brother Ponciano, from her father's side. On February 3, 2001, she married football player Luis García. The marriage was dissolved on September 1, 2004. Del Castillo lives in Los Angeles. On August 22, 2005, it was reported by the LAPD that del Castillo's new house, in Los Angeles, had been broken into by thieves, who took some jewelry from the actress. del Castillo was in Los Angeles filming Bordertown, a film about the deaths in Ciudad Juárez, alongside Jennifer Lopez, when the robbery occurred. In August 2009, del Castillo married Aarón Díaz in a Las Vegas ceremony. On July 26, 2011, it was announced that Kate and Díaz were separating.

On January 9, 2012 Del Castillo posted controversial support for drug trafficker Chapo Guzman on her Twextra page, stating "Today I believe more in the Chapo Guzmán [than in] government that hides painful truths from me, who hide the cure for cancer, AIDS, etc.. for their own benefit and wealth." Later in the year, she posed in a PETA ad campaign, encouraging pet owners to "fiercely protect" their dogs and cats by keeping them indoors.

During an interview with Cristina Saralegui on the Cristina Show, Kate revealed that her favorite band is the successful English pop band, Duran Duran.

Several people from Copiapó, Chile, work in the San José mine. The owner ignores the warnings of the failing stability of the mine, which collapses a short time later. The only path inside the mine is completely blocked, and the thirty three miners manage to get to the rescue chamber. They discover that the radio is useless, the medical kit is empty, the ventilation shafts lacked the required ladders, and there was very little stored food. Mario Sepulveda becomes the leader of the miners, dividing the food in rations and stopping the outbursts of violence or despair. The mine does not attempt any rescue, and the relatives of the miners gather around the gates.

In the village of San Andrés Güépez there is a small cinema called Cine Linterna Mújica. One day during a projection of the Olores Perros movie, the cinema owner and cácaro Don Toribio Mújica, falls from the projection room while trying to unjam his tie of the projection machine. From the town hospital, Don Toribio sends for his sons Gumaro and Archimboldo to give a message to everyone before he died; each at the time had made his life in different places: Gumaro as a clerk in a chicano burrito restaurant and Archimboldo in a cabaret from Mexico City doing tranzas as clone credit cards, steal wallets and cell phones of the customers and serve them Alka Seltzer instead of champagne or wine. Both return Güépez, and his father says in his deathbed what each should do from now on (not before hinting rave and the famous Guillermo López Langarica "The Canaca"). During the funeral of Don Toribio, the 2 brothers start fighting and they're stopped by Don Cuino Melendez De La Popocha, Güépez permanent president, even asking them to go the next day to his office to read the Toribio's testament.

In California, an alcoholic named Julia (Tilda Swinton) is out of control, partying every night, and waking up in unknown homes with no memory of the previous night. Elena takes Julia into her apartment after finding her passed out on the pavement one night. Julia declines, but after some time changes her mind. She visits an old friend to ask for his cooperation, but her offer is refused. She rides to the Mexican border, kidnaps the little boy and blackmails Elena's father-in-law for $2 million. The police discover her whereabouts and she flees, accidentally crashing her car through the wall dividing United States and Mexico. There, the boy is kidnapped in turn by Mexican kidnappers. Her friend Mitch (Saul Rubinek) arrives in Mexico and gives Julia the ransom money. During the exchange, the Mexican kidnappers escape with the money, leaving the boy safely with Julia.

In a poor family in Mexico City, Adriana (Paulina Gaitán) celebrates her 13th birthday, and is happy about the bicycle her 17-year-old brother Jorge (Cesar Ramos) gives her. After the tourist complies, the three carry out a mock execution, revealing that the guns are only water guns.
