Dans une propriété bourgeoise de l'Italie d'avant-guerre, un aristocrate veuf, Gérard, est inconsolable depuis la mort de son épouse Leonora, la seule femme qu'il a aimée et qui prenait du plaisir à se prostituer dans un bordel. Il tente d'évoquer ses souvenirs charnels en écoutant des bandes enregistrées qui dévoilent leurs expériences sexuelles. Jusqu'au jour où sa belle-fille Ursula, le portrait craché de sa mère défunte, lui rend visite pour lui annoncer qu'elle et son frère Edmund sont désormais sous sa tutelle. Mais la jeune fille veut surtout perdre sa virginité dans les bras de son beau-père. Amoureuse de lui, elle prend petit à petit la place de sa mère au point de devenir sa sosie. Qu'elle se maquille comme elle ou qu'elle écoute leurs étreintes enregistrées, et alors que Edmund couche avec la maîtresse de Gérard, Ursula se métamorphose en Leonora sous les yeux de Gérard qui succombe à ses charmes troublants.

The film takes place along a stretch of coastline somewhere in Florida in the United States, where a local tourist spot has become plagued by a mysterious marine creature. Little do they know, the monster is the product of a secret military experiment — a genetic hybrid mutated from a common octopus and the prehistoric super-predator Dunkleosteus. Unfortunately, the creature has broken loose, and is now feeding on swimmers and tourists swimming or sailing along the coast. Like in the books Malko is a nobleman whose family bequeathed him a huge castle and an aristocratic appearance but no sufficient means to sustain the inherited premises or to keep up the appropriate life style. This time it is the castle's roof that requires work and forces Malko to accept another CIA mission. The secret service is worried about rumours which endanger the US-American reputation. It was brought to the CIA's notice that a former collaborator named Enrique Chacon (Raimund Harmstorff) allegedly went rogue in San Salvador. Malko is supposed to investigate Chacon over the atrocities of death squads and then do whatever seems fit against the background of his findings. So he travels to San Salvador and goes about it. Soon he becomes a witness to the crimes of the death squads and eventually he has to realise how Chacon is indeed the driving force for all that. That leaves him no other choice than to render Chacon harmless for good before he can return to his castle and his fiancée, Countess Alexandra (Sybill Danning).

Strange things are happening in a small English village starting when a man driving a car suddenly encounters a strange black cat in the back seat and through the mesmerizing stare, the cat causes the man to crash his car into a lamp post, killing him. The black cat travels back to its home, a rambling old house occupied by Robert Miles (Patrick Magee), a morbid and hostile former college professor of the supernatural who is reputed to be a medium. Professor Miles lives alone except for his equally hostile black cat, and spends his time making audio tape recordings at the tombs of the recently deceased. Meanwhile, an American tourist named Jill Travers (Mimsy Farmer), ventures into an open crypt to take photographs for her scrapbook when she discovers a small microphone on the floor of the place. Venturing out, she meets the local police constable Sergeant Wilson (Al Cliver) who tells her not to venture down the crypt against saying that the dead like to be left alone. "They're not very hospitable," says Wilson.
