Dan Gilroy (born June 24, 1959) is an American screenwriter.
Dans les années 1980, il est le chanteur du groupe The Breakfast Club avec comme batteur la future chanteuse Madonna. Après avoir fréquenté l'université Dartmouth College, il se lance dans l'écriture du scénario du film de science-fiction Freejack de Geoff Murphy, coécrit avec Steven Pressfield, Ronald Shusett et adapté de Immortality, inc. de Robert Sheckley. Il coécrit ensuite le script de Chasers de Dennis Hopper.
Au milieu des années 1990, Dan Gilroy écrit un scénario pour le projet Superman Lives qui devait être réalisé par Tim Burton avec Nicolas Cage dans le rôle principal. Dans ce scénario, Lex Luthor est sous l'emprise d'une intelligence extraterrestre et parvient à tuer Superman. Le film ne verra jamais le jour.

Eddie Devane (William McNamara) is a young Seaman Apprentice who has carried out a number of inventory-related scams along with his partner-in-crime Howard (Crispin Glover) and made a lot of money during his service. A day before his discharge, Eddie is assigned to escort a prisoner from the marine base at Camp Lejeune along with the authoritarian, no-nonsense Chief Petty Officer Rock Reilly (Tom Berenger).
