Emily Jean "Emma" Stone (born November 6, 1988) is an American actress. She made her feature film debut in the comedy Superbad (2007). In 2010, Stone made her leading debut in the comedy Easy A, for which she received a nomination for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Musical or Comedy. Stone's other films include the romantic comedy-drama Crazy, Stupid, Love (2011), the drama The Help (2011), The Amazing Spider-Man film series (2012/14) as Gwen Stacy and the animated comedy The Croods (2013).
In 2014, Stone co-starred in Woody Allen's romantic comedy Magic in the Moonlight and Alejandro González Iñárritu's black comedy-drama Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance). Her performance in Birdman earned her nominations for the BFCA, SAG, Golden Globe, BAFTA and Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. On November 11, 2014, she made her Broadway debut as Sally Bowles in the musical Cabaret, which she performed until February 15, 2015. She received critical acclaim for her performance.
Stone's mother was diagnosed with breast cancer and was cured in 2008. In 2010, to celebrate her mother being two years cancer-free, Stone wrote a letter to Paul McCartney asking him to sketch two birds' feet because The Beatles' 1968 song "Blackbird" is her mother's favorite song. McCartney did so, and Stone and her mother received matching wrist tattoos. Since then, Stone has done extensive work with Revlon and Stand Up to Cancer to help fight women's cancers.
Stone started dating her The Amazing Spider-Man co-star Andrew Garfield in 2011.

Stone moved from Los Angeles to Greenwich Village, New York City in 2009. As of 2015, she has moved back to Los Angeles. In 1928, a globally famous illusionist, Wei Ling Soo, performs in front of a crowd in Berlin with his world-class magic act. As he walks off stage the film audience sees that he is actually a British man named Stanley (Colin Firth). He berates his employees and is generally curmudgeonly towards his well-wishers. In his dressing-room, he is greeted by old friend and fellow illusionist Howard Burkan (Simon McBurney). Howard enlists Stanley to go with him to the Côte d'Azur where a rich American family, the Catledges, has apparently been taken in by a clairvoyant and mystic, Sophie (Emma Stone). In fact, the son of the family, Brice (Hamish Linklater), is smitten with Sophie, and his sister Caroline (Erica Leerhsen) and brother-in-law George (Jeremy Shamos) are concerned Brice is considering proposing marriage. Howard says that he has been unable to uncover the secrets behind her tricks and he admits that the more he watched her the more he believed she really has supernatural powers. So he would like Stanley, who has debunked charlatan mystics in the past, to help him prove she is a fraud.

Riggan Thomson (Michael Keaton) is a faded Hollywood actor best known for playing the superhero Birdman decades ago in a series of films. He is often tormented by the mocking, critical inner voice of Birdman, and frequently visualizes himself performing feats of levitation and telekinesis. The film opens with a quotation from Raymond Carver stating that the main fulfillment in life is related to having once been loved, then cuts to a dramatic atmospheric disturbance resembling a meteor descending in flames.
